Things aren’t really going well for Porto at the moment. We aren’t getting the results we are deserving. It’s another game where we’ve had the better of the stats and lost. Creeped in recently but hopefully that doesn’t last long.
Handy game in terms of getting squadie minutes in, making some okay headway with that but possibly having an effect on results. Not that it matters too much, Porto are not good enough to go up and if nobody takes over then they can’t anyway so squad progression and ABs are more important really. Be nice to finish in the top two mind
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
A solid win, went defensive at 3 up. We must rotate the squad for the remaining fixtures if we have any hope of making minutes for 4 fringe players. Poor management on my behalf here, and likewise to Porto this may hamper us. However, with a shockingly short season and no europe - we wonder if JB will like previous years be lenient on the minutes. We must assume not. We have loads of players nearing rating up too which will further put the stress on minutes. Anyway GG Travis, we came to attack the Feyenoord defence and came away with the points, phew!
Excellent result for us today although I have to admit this was not a 4-0 game of football as both teams performed very well and you could easily argue that a point each at the end of it would have been a fair reflection of the game. I guess at the end of the day we was just more clinical in front of goal than our opponents although hats off to them for making this great game for all of todays paying public to witness.
Feyenoord blanked 0-3 at home against an all out attack formation by the visiting Frankfurt club. Unity was the key in the visiting sides relentless push toward goal. With four strikers reeking havoc around keeper J_Cillessen for a good part of the first half, composure for the hosts dwindled, along with home field advantage. The goals seem to come easy after J_Vallejo opened the scoring in the 4th minute. B_Davies would add salt to the wound in the 26th and finally H_Ziyech hammering the final nail into the coffin for the visitors in the 50th. Feyenoord will need to regroup prior to Sunday's match against Leicester City at Kingpower Stadium if they want redemption.
This result shows that quality in this Celtic side. If they don't get promoted something is wrong with the world.
They showed all their class today and smashed us winning by a four goal margin.
The stats do show that to be a little harsh though, as it was 20-28 on shots, but you have to factor in the quality of those shots too as Celtics shooting power trumps us significantly.
A slightly flattering win, but the goals have been flowing well of late, and delighted with our current form.
Always nice to beat randy Andy, even if he's on autopilot and playing some for minutes
The new lads have settled in well, and Medina gets an uprate, so all good going into the next game.
Sneaked above Frankfurt on goal difference too, so heady heights of 2nd
