Very volatile match up with Napoli who are just above us in the league. We applied consistent pressure all game and dominated the stats, but only just creeped the win with Napoli missing a penalty.

Dortmund 1 8 Roma

The first time this season our misfiring A has hit its stride. With KDB scoring 4. Nice to have Goretzka back in the side

42 shots to 12 suggests it was a fully deserved win.

PSG flying high and its hard to imagine we can catch them. After embarrassing cup defeats to Barca & Madrid - our fragile confidence feels permanently scarred.

Atletico Madrid 1 PSG 3
Went into the game not expecting to win, so played a safe C. Scored with our first shot then immediately conceded from their first shot. We managed to get our noses back in front, and made it more comfortable after the break with a 3rd. We then opened up a little, but there were no more goals. 3 goals for the front 2, but felix still nowhere near the level he was at last season. Another poor performance from the goalkeeper , getting 5 measly abs. Fortunately our defence seems pretty strong, so the number of shots our goalkeeper faces isnt that great. On balance i would say we deserved the victory. I think that is 4 straight wins vs ATM this season, with maybe another 2 to come if we both get through the CL QFs.

Sevilla 1 - 1 Real Madrid

Yet another odd game.

18 key passes which only produces 14 shots. Usually the passes are more than the shots.

Not today though so it seems that despite being laced with shooting throughout the team we couldn't get the killer ball to our strikers with key passes going wasted.

A meh game.

Despite all this we shaded the game and slightly deserved the win, but a draw isn't harsh factoring in our wayward passing.

Looks like we just can't get it together in the league, 7 points behind the leaders it would take a herculean effort to drag back PSG. Are we capable? Yes. Will we do it? That's another question.

Juventus 2 - 0 RB Leipzig

A straightforward loss to one of the title contenders, a goal in each half settled this tie fairly easily. Defender Izzo done himself proud with six tackles during the match. Leipzig drop into the bottom three with teams around them picking up points and it's onto Sunday's league game against Schalke just a point above RB.

Juventus 2 - 0 RB Leipzig

A key win for us today against a struggling, but capable RB Leipzig team.

We came into the game missing our captain Nuno_Mendes, however up stepped the other lads hoping to one day become a leader of this squad.

We opted for all out attack, having seen the quality of the Leipzig strikers, we felt at home we could take a risk on giving up TA.

This didn't happen as our visitors played an unexpected P tactic, however this didnt do them any favours as it was one way traffic for the opening 30 minutes, culminating in Antony continuing his spell of goals for the club to put us into the lead.

Our domination continued until the break where we headed in a goal to the good.

Into the second half and it began how the first had ended with us on top which resulted in the second, coming from F_Wirtz to put us in complete control.

The final 20+ minutes of the game panned out pretty evenly, with both teams having chances but it was us who ultimately ran out 2-0 Winners which gives us 3 valuable points in our pursuit of Champions League football.

Statistically we were much the better team so the win was well deserved.

Atletico Madrid 1 PSG 3

With 3 games going strongly against Atletico this season the manager asked his Mrs what to do. The answer came back "attack". We thought PSG may play counter but the reply again was "attack" so that is what we went with. At least for the first time in the 4 defeats this season PSG dominated the game and deserved the win!

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We simply havent found any luck or method of playing PSG this season. 0-2, 1-4, 2-5 and 1-3 is pretty damning not only for us as a club but for the league in general to have a side so much ahead of teams on the fringes of things, never mind those lower. I wont be asking the Mrs for her opinion ever again, this was the first and last time. We never really were in the title race but maybe the one or two optimistic fans can put that out of their minds now for the season. If we can finish 5th it will have been another excellent campaign".

Inter Milan 2 - 4 Marseille

a strange game, on Sunday we beat Milan 8-0 with less of the ball, today we lose 4-2 after dominating the entire game, its weird but thats football, we raced into a 2 goal lead but managed to concede 4 against the run of play, im thinking Donnaruma took a bribe from his old boss and we have decided to shift him on for lack of trust. The stats show the story of the game and to add salt Lukaku scored against us after being a great servant to the club and never celbrated which was nice, but one of those games. gg Euan

Barcelona 2 AC Milan 1

Feels like we made heavy weather of it and should have won more comfortably but thankfully we ultimately got the 3 points that we deserved.

The red card to Jesus couldn’t really have timed better as we wouldn’t have been playing him on Sunday anyway ahead of the cup final. We rested our best midfielder in this one for fear of suspension and we’ll be resting even more on Sunday.

Be interesting to see how Lisbon play it but we can only do what we think is best for ourselves and we have to protect our better players.

Sociedad 3-0 Lyon

Excellent win where we played some brilliant attacking football. Big three points in terms of our chances of staying up. New man Diego Jota has been superb since joining, this time earning a man of the match. I’m hoping he can bit that missing piece of the jigsaw in terms of giving us a constant threat going forward. Elsewhere goals from Jurnanovic, van den Berg and Veerman were what we needed.
Unlucky Jase, hope you get a turn around. Well played.

travelling to Germany minus De Paul was pretty bearable, but travelling without DDG was destined for a spanking. And tbh JB should be kicking himself at only tucking away 1 goal, but at the end of the day 1 goal earned 3 points. We were wasteful.

so when the delight of this game goes we host Banks 2, a re run of the cup, and another hiding in the bag for AB.
