Marseille 2-2 Leverkusen

Yet again our keeper is the downfall, dominated the game from start to finish. 17 shots to 9, 11 on target against 6. But the key stats as always is the scoreline and this shows a draw, made even more frustrating by the last kick of the game in the 93rd minute being the equaliser.

It gets frustrating when you have a keeper like mine and there is nothing you can seemingly do about it.

Lyon 1 3 Roma

We were 1 goal down for most of the 1st half but we managed to find our shooting boots in the 2nd half.

All the big boys won keeping EFL extremely tight. Could be the first time the Big Three have a title run in together.

MotM Firmino rated up nicely for our big CL game against Madrid. Goretzka got himself suspended with a rash booking, which gives young Ricci a great opportunity to showcase his talent.

SPORTING LISBON 2-0 Juventus

Massive 3 points in the grand scheme of things. Lisbon need wins and they showed up today and got what they deserved. We got humbled a bit last week, today was the opposite matched Juve and took our chances. We suffered an injury but stayed together and held out for the big win.

AC Milan 0 - 8 Inter Milan

L_Klostermann (4), J_Brandt (15), Dani_Olmo (19,93), H_M_Son (32,61,84), Names Mati will not want to see after a dramatic pumping at home to his main rivals, Donnarumma showed why we paid so much for him with an amazing performance as the team just steamrolled AC Milan where it mattered, we deserved this, we know Mati likes changing things up for his cup final and we roasted them and thats all that matters is city bragging rights. gg mate

Sporting Lisbon 2 - 0 Juventus

A disappointing result but one that we felt coming and certainly one we can't beat ourselves up too much about.

Sporting set up with a back 5 and a DM, showing us a lot of respect and hit us on the counter against our P tactic.

The hosts dominated the opening stages of the game and on 17 minutes, took the lead. This meant they changed tactics to N and gave us TA.

They continued to control the game until the half hour mark where we finally came into the game, however we went in at the break a goal down.

Into the second half and Sporting didn't give us chance to settle and quickly doubled their lead making it 2-0 in the 46th minute.

The rest of the game saw both teams have spells but we couldn't break them down.

Statistically Sporting were the better team and deserved the win. Maybe not by 2 goals but that's how it's happened today.

Real Madrid 2 - 1 Dortmund

Back to winning ways thanks to another one from our bag of tricks. Shows that you don't need to just play A to generate a lot of shots. The main thing was we got through the game clear of any suspensions or injuries for the trip to Roma. It looks like our former player Goretzka got a bit dizzy for the Roman's bouncing his head between the AM and DM positions as he tried in vain to understand his new managers unclear instructions and will now miss our game which is shame as it means they will be a little weaker.

RB Leipzig 1 - 2 Bayern Munich

Not a bad performance considering the opposite fixture saw RB beaten 5-0, Bayern took the lead early and was quickly wiped by midfielder Vlasic and held on till half time. But the quality of players soon told on Leipzig with Bayern scoring the eventual winner with 30 minutes to go. Next up Crystal Palace in the cup.

Barcelona 4 Schalke 2

Played attacking for the first 70 mins and then changed to a passing style and we got a bit sloppy thereafter, conceding a couple which is annoying as they didn't really create very much. Still it's 3 points and that's always the main objective.

Played Pedri in an advanced role for the first time and he responded to the threat of being sold with a goal and a strong performance. There continues to be several clubs sniffing about so there is every chance he will still leave but it's nice to see he's more than just an out and out midfielder when given the chance to push further forward.

We're at full strength for the Champions League trip to Atletico but it's going to be extremely difficult. They're in excellent form and well above us in the table. They mix up their tactics well and have a top class manager who is improving them season on season. We have to make sure we are still in the tie for the return leg at home.

Rangers 3-2 Sociedad

Another frustrating game for us. Started with an A to the Rangers L, went 1-0 ahead, they switch to E and mount a comeback. Don’t know if I’m maybe putting too much emphasis on tactical advantage and just need to switch to a more consistent tactical setup.
Nice to see debutant Diego Jota net a brace but we need some wins and fast.

Lazio 2 - 1 Sevilla

Well, on stats, we took sevilla apart, however, on being clinical in the box, a bit more needs doing,

we played our good buddy stew's struggling sevilla, but he knows how to play and set up to be a tough nut to crack, semedo and mbappe in the first half made the teamtalk easier, but a resilient spanish outfit came out and did the job they were asked,

they got a goal back to make the final 15 mins really uncomfortable,

Napoli 1 Atletico Madrid 2

It looked like been a return to struggling in front of goal with the away side on top in this game but Napoli leading through a 55' Cunha goal. Atletico kept huffing and puffing and finally Sessegnon brought the game level on 80'. With the game all but ended up popped the head of Vinicius to continue his recent rich form to win the game in the 92'. An 8-24 shot count showed Atleticos dominance.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "The players kept going to their credit and finally got the three points after a a very good performance at a team pushing for champions league qualification. Bayer's poor form means it looks like 11 pushing for 8 places so this was a great three points to to ensure we sit well above the line. 8 of the top 11 won".

Good news for Atletico
R_Sessegnon 22 ENG 1 14 21 14 22 1 434 52 814 improved with the armband and passes to a 21-rated midfielder.

The bad news is Sessegnon picked up a 5th booking of the season and missed the champions league first leg against Barcelona. Four further players are currently one booking away from suspensions and so Atletico have moved into the transfer market bringing in

PSG 3 Monaco 0
The visitors started with a very defensive formation but we raced into a 3 goal lead on 24 minutes. At this point Monaco opened up and switched to a european tactic How we failed to add to our tally is beyond me, despite several sections of A v E. With a 25 - 4 shot count, the result was on par with what i would expect - a 3-0 victory. The downside of only facing 2 shots on target is that our GK continues to be one of the worst performing ones - simply because he isnt facing that many shots.
