With the 2-1 loss at home to Fulham, Feyenoord make it two consecutive losses in a row. Fulham was able to take the lead when R_Durmisi’s shot in the 7th minute clipped off the post past keeper J_Cillessen. The winning goal for Fulham came in the 54th, minute, a lovely pass from L_Kelly to D_Ings who drove it right past the Feyenoord keeper. The home-side threatened in the 63rd as O_Idrissi was able to close the gap by one with a amazing bicycle kick that caught the visiting keeper A_Lunin off guard. Some good news, E_Gutierrez is back after a 2 week absence due to injury. On the other hand Feyenoord were without the services of Melendo for most of the match as he was forced to leave the pitch in the 12th minute after being on the wrong end of a tackle by R_Durmisi, the injury is not serious and the midfielder is expected back for his next match. More bad news, the victim this time is Feyenoord defender D_Hancko who sustained a knock in the the 92nd minute of extra time, sidelining him for two weeks.
Efficiently got the job done against a strong German side. We suspected their tactics and planned accordingly, and it was nice to see new signing Busquets have a good game. Ul dude. We've made a few changes of late, and there are a few more this week, so keeping the results coming is nice bonus. Unfortunately not long after selling Awoniyi, Moura goes and gets himself injured! two out for Leicester away next, so not expecting much in that game. Nice to see it closing up again at the top.
Another prestigious win after last round comeback at Frankfurt. After taking the lead in the first minute with Jota, we decided to let Leicester play their own game, trying to protect the advantage and then counter. At the end of the first half Taremi scored the second, so going at half time 2 goals up we basically parked the bus for the next 45 minutes. Not really a display of Goitreball (lol), but it had proven to be effective as we limited their offense.
Jota will leave us tonight, given his contribution in these 2 games I wonder if was the right decision... We also tried to buy a new keeper, but we have not found the agreement with the manager, even if we feel it was close. So Meslier is going to be the captain for the rest of the season and we'll try to cope with this "problem" at eos
The points shared in a game we probably shaded but in the end happy to take a point in. After taking the lead midway through the first period the home side went in at the interval with a two goal to one advantage scoring their second in injury time of the first period. We levelled the tie back up not long into the second half and despite a few more chances for both sides to take all the points it ended up a stalemate.
16-21 shot count we should lose the match but by 4 goals seems harsh. We came to play though but perhaps Sheff Utd was just too good for a team in transition like Forest. Got a few players coming in and out this week so let's see what the newly shaped team can do next time. GG Kels well done, a fully deserved three points.
No real interest with the tough away trip to PSV. Thought to experiment with a few different formation ideas in recent weeks, and gave some much needed minutes to 16 rated Wintle. Very tight top 6 now, could be interesting. Ultimately comes down to how much we want it if we are to finish top two or not. 3 losses in a row is quite unacceptable but our head has not been in the game. Maybe we get it back in the game tomorrow.
