    Schalke 3 - 8 Juventus

A cracking result to end the first half of the season on a high.
We knew coming into this game that we had an advantage over Schalke due to squad strength so having seen them lose 6-0 to Bayern last week we wanted to inflict more pain on them for gave it all we had.

To our surprise, Schalke came out fighting too with an A tactic of their own, however just 2 minutes in Antony had given us the lead on his way to a very big day for himself and the club.

We doubled our lead just 5 minutes in with Antony's 10th of the season and 2nd of the game and despite Schalke's switch to C on 10 minutes, Antony made it 3-0 and a hat trick on 12 minutes to give us complete control.

The Brazilian made it 4 for the day just a minute later and at 4-0 just 13 minutes in, this one looked like it was going to be a massacre.

We added two more in minutes 23 & 27 through F_Wirtz and C_DeKetelaere and Schalke switched back to A on the half hour mark.

With the first half coming to an end, C_DeKetelaere made it 7-0 with his 2nd of the game and the half ended with us taking a 7-0 lead into the break. Schalke switched back to a C tactic at half time.

If the first half was anything to go by, we were expecting to get double figures, but whatever the Schalke manager said at half time, it seemed to work as goals on 57 and 66 minutes reduced the deficit but we were still to strong for them.

Schalke pulled a 3rd goal back on 88 minutes but we scored an 8th through A_Isak in the 93rd minute for his 20th of the season and a 8-3 win on the road.

Statistically as the scoreline would suggest, we crushed them in all aspects of the game and truly deserved the win.

Lots of abs, lots of goals, C_DeKeteleare has now rated up in his SH, all round a good day at the office.

    Good game Chris.

      Rangers 1 - 2 Real Madrid

Missing 2 key defenders I thought I might be in trouble here away to a solid mid table Rangers.

I recalled Witsel from Stoke and he came straight into the reigning EFL1 Champions starting lineup for his Real Madrid debut having played well in the Premiership.

Rangers took the lead and it really was looking like another poor day at the office as we really was dreadful, an insipid performance.

      We needed inspiration.

      It came.

It what could be a spark to our season, Leao, who is having a good season after his step up in both class and management from Juventus. And the previously mentioned recalled Witsel, both scored in the 90th and 93rd minute to record a lucky win for Madrid.

We escaped from Ibrox with the win and the three points.

        PSG 1 Roma 0
Fortunate result for us .Probably a combination of odd formation from Roma, they lost thier GK to injury, and had 80% of their shots off target. Derek had made noises about different formations but we just stuck with virtually the same sheet that we have played so many times this season. Pino continues to outscore Felix, but as long as one of them is getting the goals, thats fine.

          Lazio 1-1 Lyon

I think the game was fair, 50/50 ball, our changes in our tactics handed the TA to Lyon, I think if I’d stuck with it we’d have scored a 2nd and changed the result. However, we didn’t and we get another point.

the team looking ok, I’ve been thinking about trippiers position lately,

          ggod game. We move on.

            RB Leipzig 2 - 1 Borussia Dortmund

Two second half goals gave Leipzig a tentative lead going into the last 35 minutes, on loan Costa and defender Wisdom the scorers but Dortmund never gave up knocking on the door for that elusive first goal to give themselves a final flourish for the equaliser but RB held on for the 3 points by the skin of there teeth. A welcome win..

              SPORTING LISBON 1-1 Sevilla

Frustrating result and to concede late on is a painful one. Through the game we controlled the ball and chances and I did think as the game went on, we'd be going away with the 3 points.

But Jorginho popped up to deny us, so we have to take a point end of. Some tough games coming up but I feel we can get points in some of them.

                Napoli 2-1 Sociedad

Sometimes ESMS can really do your head in…
Going through a patch where we deserve so much more from games.
You look at other games and teams around you getting tactically advantage and home advantage against them but still getting three points. It can be pretty infuriating.
All you can do is buckle down and keep going.
                Played Napoli.

                  PSG 1 0 Roma

Another GK injury - making a total of 5 games missed this season. And following Madrid's red card in the last game - PSG are certainly getting the rub of the green atm.

But it's poor results against the midtable teams that has cost us points. We are struggling in 4th well adrift of the league leaders at the halfway stage.

Neuer has been signing of the season so far - hopefully he'll help us get a win in our next game.

                    Barcelona 3 Bayern Munchen 0

Up against the old counter attacking approach so always a bit wary in that scenario but this was as good a performance as we've put in for a long time. Jesus notched early on and we never looked back. Mahrez enjoyed going up against his old side following his quarter of a billion pound pre season move with a double in a man of the match display.

A few players rated up in either mains or seconds which always helps. The league isn't our priority but it's good to see us climbing to a more respectable position.

Think we have free scoring Juve away next. AB has them going again after a blip last season so that'll be a good test for us.

This one turned into a bit of a snoozefest with very few shots. Inter could perhaps have sneaked in but never ventured away from their conservative tactics all game. Atletico just couldn't get their game going at all and every attack seemed to end in a tackle from Inter's defence.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "Its a good point and we are pleased sitting in 05th spot on 39 points at midway point of the season. We are however, not scoring or creating enough chances this season and we will be looking at the auction tomorrow for possible answers".

Inter Milan 0 Atletico Madrid 0

I messed up. i had tactics set for going behind or going ahead but none if it stayed 0-0 which resulted in two negative teams who didnt want to lose playing out a fairly low key game, in fairness though we did enough to win the game we just could not score, we nulified Atletico to one shot on and one off target while we had 8 attempts but the negative tactics of both sides killed the game, i dont think either side would be happy with the point here and the abs from the game but we move on, gg mate

                          Ac Milan 1-0 Leverkusen

We came up against a tough Milan side in a cagey affair that left little changes to be had. We couldn’t find our way passed the formidable keeper and they snatched a goal in a game that could have gone either way.

                          Good game Mati

We need to turn our form around if we want to cement our DPT spot.
