    Leverkusen 1-3 Monaco

As soon as I saw NvP I knew it would be a long game.

I hardly ever play N and Monaco hardly ever play P. So two teams mixing it up and it backfired on us.

No arguments with the result, Monaco were the better side. Disappointed after what has been a good run to drag us up near the champions league spot.

    Well played Johnboy

      Marseille 0 0 Roma

Toothless Roma continue to struggle against supposedly weaker opponents - 2 points from our last 3 games.

Barca in the cup semi next. Need a vast improvement to keep our treble hopes alive.

        Schalke 2 - 2 Sevilla

Javi Martinez with another goal, that's 3 in 4 matches! When I saw Sevilla come out playing longball I was a bit concerned but we managed to get one by two minutes in and were able to sit back and counter attack. We gave up a goal on a corner followed by a goalkeeping error to go down 2-1 at the half.

After a spirited halftime speech from the manager, Freuler equalized five minutes into the second half. The match would finish 2-2. Sevilla had their chances but we were also a constant threat throughout. I felt 3 points would have been deserved but happy with another point.

        Good game RG.

          Juventus 1 - 1 Bayern Munich

The winning run comes to an end as struggling, but quality filled, Munich come to town.

We expected Bayern to play positive football, so looked to match that with P however having spoken to the Bayern Munich manager after the game, they came here to avoid defeat and avoid defeat only. Such a fall from grace from the once better German outfit.

With Bayern looking to keep things tight, their C countered our P but despite that fact we controlled the first half but couldn't put the chances away and the half ended 0-0.

Into the second half and the first 30 minutes of the period, either team had good spells of pressure but it was the visitors on 75 minutes who took the lead against the run of play after a period of 20 minutes where Bayern had zero actions in the game.

We had to pick ourselves up off the canvas and we stuck to our guns and kept plugging away and on 90 minutes we got our reward when Y_Adli was fouled in the area by the Bayern GK which led to A_Isak dispatching the penalty to rescue a point for us.

Statistically we were the better team and even though Bayern will feel like they should have won due to the time of our goal, we feel like we should have took all 3 points.

          Good game JB.

            Inter Milan 3 - 0 Real Sociedad

a much needed win, we decided to change tactics as i suspects a few now suspect we will always play A at home, while it has worked we do need to spring a trap now and then to just mix it up, today was that day. to be fair to Sociedad they were very much on par with us in first half even though we countred them with the E as soon as we ironically changed to A we started to domunate the game and scored the first goal before halftime, after that Sociedad came out all guns blazing too but as the game went on we turned the screw to score a futher two and get the victory, mixed feelings on the performance today we got the win and looking at stats had most of the play but believe we could do better. gg mate

Ac Milan 1 Atletico Madrid 2

              GG Matias

Back to winning ways in a big mid-season game against a side on the same points heading into the game. Milan have been very good this season scoring plenty of goals and went into the lead through Messi on 32 minutes. Atletico hit back 6 minutes late through Vinicius Junior. Both side sides things around a little, both sides had chances but Sessegnon scored the winner on 73 minutes.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We are close to half-way through the campaign and sitting in 06th place with a 5-point gap in front of 08th and a 4-point gap to the current title chasing sides. IF we could start scoring goals we could have an interesting season ahead".

Atletico have struggled for goals all season. Maybe more shots could have been created but we feel these goals per shots are not as high as perhaps they could be.
              Sancho (21) 13 goals 95 shots = 7.31
              Vinicius (21) 8 goals 74 shots = 9.25
              Paqueta (18) 8 goals 49 shots = 6.13
              Diaby (17) 5 goals 50 shots = 10.00
              Sessegnon (14) 4 goals 39 shots = 9.75
              Frimpong (12) 3 goals 34 shots = 11.33
              Romagnoli (12) 2 goals 18 shots = 9.00

                RB Leipzig 2 - 3 Rangers

A poor result at home, expected more from Leipzig after a decent run but Rangers had more than enough to beat RB. Rangers struck straight away from the kick off which put RB on the back foot but against the run of play Vlasic equalised and that's how it stood till the second half when 2 quick goals from Rangers and a very late consolation penalty converted by Martial was how it ended.

                  Napoli 1 - 1 Real Madrid

Thought we had snatched the winner here late on with an 80th minute Mendy goal, but unfortunately Napoli pulled back level with just 2 minutes to go in the 88th minute. A shot count of 13-29 in our favour, should result in a 1-3, or 2-4 win for us, but didn't carry favour with the on/off target RNG God's once again. Another 2 points dropped. That's two games we should have got 6 points from if we are going to win the title, and we only got 2 despite absolutely dominating both games. That kind of luck can make or break a season. Is what it is, will line the arrow up again for the next game and see if it lands on the target this time, but we will have to do it without Mendy who saw a late red card and will miss 2 games. Yet another red card for Madrid. GG Chris, if you read the PMR's.

                    Barcelona 1 Dortmund 0

A late winner but a deserved one. Never easy against a 51130C set up but we persevered and the late switch to an attacking style finally paid dividends as that man Jesus notched his 19th of the season.

Always pleases me when we beat a team that don't play anyone as a striker so all in all a great outcome for us.

Late booking for sub Antonio rules him out of the cup semi so there goes a potential penalty taker - if we manage to take it that far. Roma have had 2 or 3 sticky games of late so we may well cop the backlash.

                      PSG 1 Lazio 0
Completely dominated the game, but it looked set to be a game of frustration until the Georgian finally got a goal with the teams 36th shot, with the lazio keeper saving 18 of the 19 shots on target. Massive 3 points with both Roma and Real Madrid failing to win away to weaker sides. Next up are 2 massive games, away to RM and home to Roma. Would happily take 2 draws at this point.

Lol. I’m not actually sure what game Ed was watching to think he completely owned this game. Lazio were playing so well right up to the point the lucky goal went in, NOW BACK TO REALITY!!!!!!!!

we got run ragged, out shot, out played and chased shadows most of the game.

luckily I was expecting worse so a 1-0 reflects something I suppose
