BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
We arguably edged the stats but we rested our best 3 players (2 one booking away from a suspension) in hope of a full strength squad to try be competitive against Manchester United in the cup semi. Overall, disappointed by this score line though. Burnley’s sheer quality proved the difference.
The Arsenal started this game happy to just hit on the counter attack and so for the majority of the first half had a tactical advantage on their side. They also scored the first goal which came along fairly early in the game going ahead after just six minutes had passed. From that point the game opened up a bit more and by the time the match had reached its midway point we had scored two further goals giving us a narrow lead. Both teams continued to push but no further breakthroughs could be found by either team leaving us with the three points.
Scored with the first and last actions of the game. We came into the tie with 3 players missing and we had to recruit a player we don't really need. But, we'll get on with it, even though we are racking up a ridiculous amount discipline points this season.
But on the game, we came simple and boring, did enough to win, and pleased we showed great resilience after their super sub had an effect to level the tie.
We are likely to rethink our approaches because if the cards keep coming we might play a game with 11 raters and 4 GK's on the pitch. But thankfully we have more options for the cup semi final.
This is a particularly pleasing result. A because Chelsea are a really good side, B because Andy knows what he’s doing and C we went E and Rocio sting facing their C and we pulled it off beautifully. Playing E can be hit or miss but with the amount of Cs we face, it is vital we make sure we can play E well and use as an option.
Excellent win and dm deserved.
played Andy, good game mate
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
As much as it hurts, this was the correct result because Leeds were the better side on the day. A lazy sheet was duly despatched and rightly so. Good game mate, well deserved.
This was a very welcome win after a poor string of results. We did leave it late and had the home supporters on the edge of their seats before we scored our first. But we always looked the better side, it just took us a while to get that goal. In the end the scoreline looked good, but we had to work for it. Recently we've had both Gabriel Veron and Emerson Royal vying to see who could become our first 20 rated outfield player. As it turned out they both achieved that accolade in this same game.
Good game Tyler.
Next game up sees us visit London to face Tottenham Hotspur.
Villa are a side we usually find ourselves near in the table so its always a good test for us althought on this occasion we came out second best. On another day we could well have gone on to win it based on the stats, our performance was very good but they are a strong side and just had the extra edge on the day.
One of the tougher fixtures in the season in our opinion, Ian always sets his sides up hard to beat as we found out in this game so we move on and look forward to the next.
