The stats show once again we shaded the game apart from the score.

Nearer the bottom of the league you need a little luck and unfortunately at the moment Sevilla are needing some!

A cup game on Tuesday can get them to a semi final and take their thoughts away from their league struggles. I’m hoping to get a few wins for the returning manager and hopefully this is where it starts!

Pretty much expected given the gulf, and it's a shocker when 1 goal is seen as a good result over the grand scheme. Not a lot to write home about but we'll keep going and try and get back to getting the vital points we aim for.

Monaco 0 - Sporting Lisbon 1

Another game where we played the majority against 10 men and again we come out on the wrong side.

The returning Smalling went straight back into the starting line-up replacing Iago, while Aubameyang came back into the side following injury as Pastore dropped out.

Fifteen minutes into the match Gimenez was sent off following an off the ball incident involving Smalling giving us a man advantage on the pitch.

However, just before half-time in stoppage time created by the sending off Juan Mata intercepted a pass back to Hradecky in the Monaco goal and slotted it straight through the goalkeepers legs.

The second half was an uneventful affair as we battled to try and grab a goal back but the Sporting defence were equal to everything we tried.

While the last 2 games we were somewhat hard done to, this time I can have no complaints - Sporting did everything they could to try and give us a result but we just weren't good enough to do anything about it.
