BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Thankfully we had TA to go with HA, but even so we made heavy weather of this against a very tenacious RBL side. Cody Gakpo got the solitary goal of the game and overall we were good value for the win, but we just didn't look very convincing. But in the end we finally got our DBC campaign off and running, too little too late.....maybe!
Good game Mike and good luck with your EFL campaign.
Why can't we always perform like this? To be honest we changed formation slightly as we expected to be up against a 3 man defence which is a bit hit and miss in ESMS. I was trying to go back to basics but this win doesn't really prove anything other than give us a good chance of doing something in this competition.
An early goal settled this tie, our third group match, which still leaves us in second place behind group leaders Fulham who we face next. Wolves deserved the 3 points against a lacklustre Leipzig with Milik our standout player on the night but not much else to crow about. So back to our EFL campaign.
Very entertaining game, with lots of chances, 53 chances between the sides altogether
It was quite an open game, and the game swung between the two sides, though at 3-1 up, it was a little disappointing to not hold on.
There was plenty of abs, and a couple of uprates, to Malen and Vickers, which will help the league campaign
The sides play each other again in the league tonight!
