    Real Madrid 3 - 1 Newcastle Utd

We dominated most of the first half and took the lead through Elliot. I thought we should have scored a 2nd with better finishing, but Newcastle came back into it in the 2nd half and looked to snatch a draw. However a tactical tweak and a sub, lead to the sub Rudiger putting in a header to make it 2-1 very late into the game. Guimares then quickly added a third. The upgrade on Goretzka now rates up to 16 shooting.

Don't think I've had the pleasure of playing Chris Banks before or Newcastle, so was nice to face some different opposition. GG Chris.

      Aston Villa 2 - 1 Inter Milan

A close game as the score line suggests but we edged it which was crucial to our chances of progression in this group. Inter took the lead during the first period and we levelled the proceedings later in the half. Both sides had a change of tactics but the game stayed very tight and we found the winner right on the stroke of the interval. No further goals were scored during the second period and the game fizzled out a bit.

        Citizens 2 - 1 Spurs

Second, and for the last time this season, we’ve faced The Citizens away from home and like the first we lost by one goal. We doesn’t expect to pick up points in these games but we tried our best without succeeding. The host controlled the game and we never looked like giving them a real fight. The CL campaign has been tough on us and we sit on nothing after two games played. Hopefully we’re able to pick up a win or two…

          Barcelona 4 - 3 Arsenal

Well we went toe to toe with one of the best Managers in the game and overall, a tale of two halves with us leading 3-1 at half time and then Barca finding their feet in the second and how ruthless they can be to come back to win it 4-3.

Pleased with the performance, we matched them really but they had that edge. Maybe we should look at our conditionals a bit more but shutting up shop with so long left in the game isn't my thing. Despite the loss, Kounde increases in main skill now which is a boost for us and another double for Pepe keeps his impressive start to the season going.

This was always going to be a tough game away against Livi, a Manager I have a lot of time and respect for, we came but we couldn't conquer but we gave them a really good game in the process.

          Played Livi mate.

            Sporting Lisbon 2-2 MANCHESTER UNITED

An odd game really, once again counter attacking football doesn't work for us in the desired effect, and we found ourselves 2 goals down. Just before half time though we pulled our first goal back and levelled 10 minutes into the half. As the game went on it was a bit one sided in terms of chances, maybe due to the 11 rater in midfield being a very weak point.

It was pleasing to level the tie, but we know we can do better. We need to improve as some performances have dropped in recent weeks.

Again we faced the 5df/2dm C defensive combo. We managed an early goal and our visitors changed things around, although it us unclear whether they switched from C. We were well in control and led by 4 at the break. Unfortunately we were unable to add to our tally, and annoyingly we conceded late on and lost our clean sheet bonus. Our GK is performing extremely poorly this season. The stats suggest the scoreline should have been closer, but our attackers were probably just more clinical on the day.

Only one of two teams to have won both opening games. Pleasing to lead the group going into our double header with Man City. Unfortunately we already have one player out, but hopefully depth will see us OK

                Roma 3 3 Bayern Munich

Another game where we outclassed Munich. Martinez had a poor performance gifting Bayern more goals than they deserved.

The lads morale was pretty low with the news of the anti-Roma rules coming in. With many saying the end of the brilliant Roma era will be a loss to the game.

Need to start winning some CL games if we are to finish on a high though.

Both teams came to play football with attacking formations but for some reason the spectators got on display one of the most boring and cagey games of football you will witness. stats were even and in total there was 17 shots over both sides, the game was 2-1 at halftime and thats way it stayed, we didnt play well and neither did Villa but they with home advantage got the result and for that we are disappointed as a draw would have been more than fair, i just hope the return is more exciting. gg mate

                    Barcelona 4 Arsenal 3

Tried to throw a curveball by starting with the N tactic but we soon found ourselves behind. Thereafter I changed to a passing approach and shifted a few players positions - but in the process accidentally moved Kroos into defence which was a total balls up and I'm extremely fortunate that didn't cost us.

It certainly looked like it was going to as we went 3-1 behind at HT but fortune shone on us as we somehow turned things around completely in the 2nd half to win 4-3....with the irony of ironies Kroos scoring the winner from his defensive position

Apologies Darren. Not a lot you can do in certain games and as I say I think we were extremely lucky in this one - sorry mate!

Puts us in a decent position after a couple of games but the double header with the reigning champs is going to be crucial.

Very disappointing result given the performance was good enough to get something on the night. Never going to be your night when an 11-rated defender scores twice and your keeper concedes as many as he saves. Another disallowed goal just added to the misery. An overall shot count of 16-13 statistically showed a fairly even game on chances.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We are not getting much help recently from the gods. Performances remain at a decent level but results have derailed the season recently. We have to remain positive though. The league is going relatively well, we have 3 more points in the champions league than perhaps expected and we are into the last 8 of the EFL cup. We go again".

Frimpong improved to a 21-15-11 player

                        Chelsea 1 - 1 Burnley

Quite a defensice football from both sides with no so many chances. We scored an early goal, Chelsea equalised at the beginning of the second half. Shots on target wise we were the more dangerous side but overall an equal match so a draw is a just result. Group B table is still very open so big game against Munich next week.
