BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
A game against much stronger opposition which is something we get used to here at Villarreal and after the heroics from Tuesdays marathon cup game against Juventus the lads did look a little tired in this one. While Porto had the better of this game we did manage to cause them a few issues but no doubting the away side deserved the three points on offer having broken the deadlock just past the hour mark.
After the disappointment of our game against Atalanta we lined up with a similar starting eleven but reverted to a flat 4 in midfield with Clark and Ihattaran dropping deeper than in the Atalanta match.
Morris opened the scoring for Luton in the 26th minute with a superb solo effort, this prompted PSV into a change as Faivre pushed forwards.
The scores were still level at half time and I was concerned that things could still go wrong for us in the second half, just before the hour mark PSV thought they had equalised but it appears that the ball didnt completely cross the line so the effort was ruled out. With 20 minutes to go Clark opened his account for the season for The Hatters following good approach work from Skhiri, 10 minutes later Fred Onyedinma got a third for Luton and virtually made the game safe.
2 minutes after Luton got their third and relaxed PSV got on the scoresheet through Malen, and followed this up with a period of sustained pressure but Rui Silva was equal to everything that PSV could throw at him.
Overall, looking at the stats this appears to be a well deserved victory over a team who started the day well above us in the table and gives us confidence going into the upcoming fixtures.
Good game Neil, good luck for the rest of the season.
Wow just wow absolutely gutted not to have come away with the full 3 points we was the far better side but both sides played well and had alot of chances but we should have come away with the win but nice football and of can carry on with performing like this then I feel we will be in a better position than what we were in last season.

Game Tim
Well played Ian.
Yeah another good three points for Porto. Fantastic start to the season, really happy with the work done to the squad over the summer and we seem to be in a decent place. In the long run as a caretaker, the team building is far more important than results, to make them more appealing to new managers, I’ve done that and can already be happy with my job. That said, winking is always nice and it would be lovely to keep this run going.
All the best Ian

I think we assess today as the team that made better of their shooting won. By that I mean they had more shots and more on target against the lesser 'keeper of the two on the pitch. Once we went one down, it had the feel of always being kept an arms reach away, even though we did male it 2-1, then 3-2, Feyenoord simply bettered us today.
I don't think it's fair to say we played terrible, but just not good enough on the day.
Time to sack the Frankfurt manager? Miserable away form . Loads needs to change if we are to be top 4, which we should be. There’s no excuses. Even though esms hates us sometimes, and I feel it did during this game but at the same time got to give credit to Betis who held out and were more clinical. Radical changes will be made in our next game (abs based now).
Poor result here. It looked hopeful as we lined up with home and tactical advantage, but it was not to be.
Our strikers were wayward, and keeper dodgy, and nothing we did in terms of changes made much difference. gg dude
I'd argue it was a fairly even game on the stats, as we had 22 shots to their 20, just they made better use of them.
The only bright note was that Malen had another good game.
Ah well, always the next game
"A much more clinical and much better all round display, the past few games have been gearing us up for this, great to score 3 and keep a clean sheet against a tough team and manager, Thuram really has hit the ground running as super sub with 2 in his first 2, he will be banging on the door now to get a start and he will get his chance in the next few games and deservedly so, hopefully this is now the kick on we need to start moving up the table."
Valencia were held to a 0-0 draw by Ajax in Amsterdam on Wednesday night, but will be satisfied with a point given the Dutch side were the better team on the night.
The Dutch side had the better of the chances but were unable to find the breakthrough against a well-organized Valencia defence.
Alex Remiro was a stalwart player for Valencia, making a number of fine saves to keep Ajax at bay.
Man of the match was awarded to Ajax’s Ivan Ordets. Valencia’s best player was Josip Juranovic.
The draw leaves Valencia in second place in the Conference League.
