      INTER MILAN 2-0 Glasgow Rangers

Stepped in for GS this game due to health concerns, incase you missed it he's OK and JB won't be renaming the Prem after him as his hospitalised request!

Right, onto the game it was a solid display where I felt we always stayed one step a head and certainly had control. Once we got the lead we kept a steady game, until we doubled the lead. We even missed a penalty in there too. But I'm happy enough with the result managed to get a couple of minutes on some of the squad players that need them too, and Rodri got away with a knock so he'll return next week.

Positive day, GS should be back on Sunday but he'll be content with 3 points I'm sure.

        Leverkusen 4-1 Lyon

A repeat of the cup fixture on Tuesday and a repeat of the tactics and formations chosen.

This time however we found our shooting boots and went home with a comfortably deserved 3 points. If you had told me that we would get 13 points from 6 games and into a cup quarter final then I’d have thought you were mad, given how poorly we performed for all of last season.

Granted we haven’t had a super hard start, although faced PSG and Inter in the first 6 games. Although no easy fixture in the EFL!

Unlucky Jason, always tricky having to play opponents two games in a row.

            Juve 1 1 Roma

Another terrified Bank's brother cowers in the corner cuddling his back 7 as the fearsome TK rolls into town.

We remain unbeaten and will take a point away to the manager who is supposedly one of the best in the game.

Our front 3 x 21 raters haven't clicked yet - but we'll stick with it a bit longer before deciding to sell one of the game.

              Bayern 3-0 Sociedad

Came looking for the point and we didn’t get it. JB had set Bayern up with a C or P in the first five games of the season so we thought we would be able to hold out with D, unfortunately for us he completely outsmarted us with the A. It was 1-0 for most the game but near the end the Germans pulled away and took a convincing win.
              Well played JB.

Routine win for the SDP. Reading the match report, the game seemed a lot closer than the stats suggested, and it was always nervy at 1 up. Our scouts had highighted that our hosts had some of the weakest attacking stats in the league, so we opted to rest 2 DFs and give our 3 DMs a run out in defence. Unfortunately, we have the 6th worst GK (in terms of abs return) in the league, and he managed to concede from 3 shots faced from the weakest offense. Fortunately, our front 2 came up with the goods. Pino stepping up this season and challenging for that 2nd spot on the top gun list.

                  Schalke 2 - 2 Real Madrid

We threw out a change of pace P tactic in this one but got off to a poor start when we went 1-0 down and then lost Guimares to a red card. Our ten men came back into the game though, got level through Leao and a Rodrygo goal on 75 minutes looked like we would steal the points. However for the 2nd time this season a last minute goal cost us as Schalke managed a leveller on 90 minutes to get the draw.

Points lost you'd have to say, but Schalke played well, and considering we were down to ten men a point on the road isn't too bad. GG Chris.

                    Juventus 1 - 1 Roma

With Roma coming to town, we knew we were up against it, with their line up being 10 skills better than ours, almost 1 per player...something it seems TK Derek has forgotten. I usually play C and Roma roll out their obvious 51004A and they usually score in the first 5 minutes and roll us over so I knew we had to be compact at the back. Something that Derek obviously doesn't like. Tough shit.

Onto the game, and we did fall behind, on 22 minutes where Roma switched from A to P keeping TA with us.

We pulled level through F_Wirtz 6 minutes from half time and headed into the second half level.

The visitors thought they'd retaken the lead on the hour, however the goal was rules out for offside and we went on to claim a point.

Statistically we were the better team (Something Derek won't mention), good game Derek.

                      Napoli 2 - 3 AC Milan

Lady Luck smiled upon us on this one.

Tough match against a shapeshifter Napoli, the Italian club under Mr. Waters has become quite unpredictable in their tactics.

We went with a risky L to see Napoli start with a Tactical change to P, which put us on edge.

Napoli got a quick advantage with a goal at the 6th minute of the match, a lead they would keep up until HT, even with the frantic attempts from all AC to tie the match up.

Second half wouldn't start better as again it took Napoli less than 10 minutes to score again, extending the lead to 2-0.

After a few changes on the formation, with Hofmann and Quaison jumping onto the pitch for Lo Celso and Simeone respectively, saw Milan changed their aim a bit, with a quick goal by Quaison only 2 minutes after he entered the pitch.

The match was dying, and the 3 points looked safe for the home team, but Milan's captain Antoine Griezmann piled up a few defenders and with a great left shoot he snapped a tier, at minute 86th. Milan were gladly clipping one point right at the end.

The ref announced 4 minutes more to be played, which seemed an eternity for both teams.. and it ended up being an eternity for Napoli, when in the very last minute of the match, when the clock hit 94 minutes, Hofmann, would hit a winner and make Milan steam 3 points from home team's hands right before the final whistle.

Milan now moves into 6th position, of a very tight top 10 for ROE.

GG Chris nonetheless, gave me a good scare there.

                        Atletico Madrid 0 Dortmund 2

                        GG Niall

Atletico looked to build on an impressive start to the season on all fronts. Dortmund however, had their own ideas of improving their slow start and more or less matched the home side statistically. An overall shot count of 13-11 showed the home side were unlucky not to get something from the game but a combination of poor shooting, a placid home defence and one sided refereeing helped Dortmund to all three points.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We were disappointed first and foremost in our own performance. The defence just didnt press resulting in only 3 key tackles. To then score 0 goals from 13 is terrible from our forward play. We missed a number of one-on-ones. Credit to Dortmund for their defensive work but we have to say the match refereeing did not help our cause. Their first goal was offside, one minute late we levelled and a perfectly good goal is disallowed. Instread of being 1-0 up, we are 0-1 down. In addition to that the referee seemed to take pleasure in booking all of our players whilst letting Dortmunds off. Gunter could have been sent off just before the break. Weigl could have had 2 yellows on the night".

Its a defeat that sees Atletico plummet down the league into 10th place. Last seasons attacking flair has seemingly vanished with only 9 league goals from 6 games.

                          Barca 3-1 lazio.

normal business resumed, just hope we don’t freefall now.

am I upset losing to barca, yep, but it’s no shame losing to Livi, class manager and uses all the tools he has to his best ability.

Semedo and fabinho were really the only 2 players who tried to change the game. We had TA for a slight period of time, but conceded. That’s concerning,

we have had a good start. And will look to bounce back in the next game.

good game Livi, on the end of a loss again lol,

I’ll get you properly one day bud

                            Monaco 1 - Sevilla 1

With 4 points from our last 2 matches we again kept faith with the process, the same starting eleven and the same starting formation for the visit of Sevilla.

In many ways Sevilla are a similar squad to Monaco and as such these are the games we need to be getting results in and when we took the lead through Jovetic on the half hour mark I was hopeful of going on to extend the lead and secure all 3 points, unfortunately on-loan midfielder Soumare had other ideas crashing through Weimann studs first in the box and giving away a penalty that Nunez smashed past Hradecky in the Monaco goal.

1-1 at half time and the hope of three points rapidly gives way to, the hope of not conceding a second and having nothing to show from the match. Both teams had attempts on goal in the second half but both goalkeepers were up to the jobs of keeping everything out and we finished with the scores level.

62% possession shows me that we are doing quite a lot right in games like that but only 1 goal scored from 9 shots on target also shows me where we need to improve if we are to maintain our end of season target of DPT football.

Good game Stew, good luck for the rest of the season.

                              Barcelona 3 Lazio 1

Drum and his boys have started their league campaign well so much so that they hadn't even conceded a goal in their opening 5 fixtures so we knew it was going to be tough.

Expected them to counter attack so mixed things up and went with a long ball approach to start with and it got us in front. I think the remaining 75 mins was P v C but thankfully we performed strongly and were able to come away with a very good win - Saint_Maximin with another couple of goals to continue his excellent recent form.

Next week looks brutal for us starting with a trip to the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday. We've performed well in the Clásico recently but this really is as tough a fixture as there is on the schedule in my opinion. Rivals or not they play with a real positive attitude and swagger and they are reigning champions for a reason.

Anyway - good game Keith, see you in the return pal.
