Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
We gave Bayern some respect today playing defensively, maybe too much respect. We lead twice, and got pegged back twice before the last kick of the game winner from EBH. Maybe if we'd have played Pellegrini, we could have got 2 infront. But overall, no complaints here, it looks like the best team on the day won. First loss of the season. Let's lick our wounds and go again. GG JB. Maybe we will see a PMR now?
When one of the top teams in the game come knocking on your door and they are likely to play P or A what do you do? You play C! And it worked pretty well until Ed switched to A later on, then they dominated the game.
I need to revisit this match to work out what else I could have done.
Take full blame for the loss. Was hovering between C and P tactically, opted for C again and that was our downfall. We’ve overused it and become too predictable. Dortmund catching us out playing long. Having said that we edged possession and were unlucky to not score. Lesson learnt for the next games.
Played Niall, good game.
Leverkusen 0 PSG 2
We lost this fixture quite convincingly last season, but we are a slightly different proposition this season.
Was always likely to be the lazy C, after i had shown enough P in recent games to scare away the N !!!
The plan was start with a very solid defensive line up with 3 x DMs, with the option of bringing ESR and Shelia from the bench later in the game if needed. The game was still deadlocked at 65, so we increased the pressure slightly, switching to A and introducing the world record auction buy. Seven minutes later he laid the ball off to Pino to take the lead. He then also got a goal himself in the dying minutes, whilst ESR did not need to be introduced.
Kvaratskhelia probably did more in the 28 minutes he was on the pitch, than most the team did in 97.

Next up is Inter at home, which was the only home league fixture that we lost last season. Like i already said, slightly different proposition this season.
3rd game this season where we did not have our preferred starting 11. Tadic proving a very shrewd buy though - providing quality backup.
3rd time we've faced D this season. 3rd time it's failed. Odd choice boosting the Roma A with a tactical bonus.
Dominated the game and would have preferred a few more goals - we'll take the 3 points though which keeps us in touch with the team known as 'a different proposition'.

Disappointing loss of 2 points here, firstly we took advantage early in the game, even if I made an error leaving an early tactical change that put us at a disadvantage.
The match was even, but Marseille got their reward with a few mins to the end of the Match.
Feeling we should have gotten more from this match, it's the kind of points loss that will hurt at the end of the season.
Atletico opted for a 5-2-3 formation with Berguis making his debut in the continued absence of Sessegnon. Burrows was away in Turkey so it was impossible to plan accordingly. Atletico won the shot count 20-5 and so in the end it was a dominating performance let down by only 5 shots on target from 20. Thankfully Diaby notched his first goal of the season and a rare strike from Mancini gave the home side all 3 points.
Manager Simon Marsh commented "We struggled with our shooting tonight but just managed in the end to do enough to win it. It gives us a pleasing start to the season and we are up there at the top end where we wanted to be".
Atletico must travel to Lyon next in the league again without Sessegnon. Lyon have started poorly but they are a much better team than the league table suggests.
decided to do what we do best and go for it, we havbe tried a couple C tactics and a P to mix it up with mixed results, Napoli have a decent side under Chris but i fancied our chances if we just played our game and not worry about what the other team plays and we blew them away, stat wise the score could have been much more but we couldnt finish our dinner, interestingly we had to go 2-1 down just before halftime even though it was all Inter, the chat at halftime was colourful to say the least but the boys came out second have and tuirned it around with three goals, still mixed performance from us but we got the result. gg mate
We drew 1-1 away to Lisbon in the CL on Tuesday and it was the same outcome at Camp Nou last night. Again we took an early lead and couldn't build on it but unlike the CL game Lisbon were well worth their equaliser so we can have absolutely no complaints at the final score - if anything Gaz's troops looked the more likely to net a late winner.
Disappointing but it's early days and we are still trying to find the right formula so no need to panic. Young Pedri coming in this week and we will jiggle things about to ensure he features regularly to aid his development.
Anyway good game again Gaz, I know some of the shit you have going on and as I said I hope things settle down for you.
Mixed feelings on this one, on one hand it's a good point against a strong team however having already beaten them in the cup and with Real Madrid & Roma on the horizon we need the points on the board.
We both played C so it was bound to be cagey and it was, a game of very few chances with us just about shading the stats.

Good game Drum.
had the cup game in my mind, thought i needed to tighten up and it worked, a point away from home v a very strong side and very good manager, id say thats win win in my opinion,
not really much within the game to say too much, for a neutral it would read quite cagey, but in truth i think the result (not the one we wanted) was fair,
Following a disappointint start to the season where we have painted ourselves as a cup team we started this must-win game against Lyon with the same squad that started the last two matches but with a different tactical approach.
Aubameyang dropped into an attacking midfield role, while we pushed Arthur and Jovetic forward.
Unlike our previous 2 league matches we didnt concede twice early in the first half - indeed we got to half time with the scores level at 0-0.
With the first attack of the second half two of the Monaco attacking midfielders combined as Jovetic put Arthur through on goal who opened the Monaco league goalscoring account with a shot that went in off the post.
Statistically the game was even, Lyon had more of the ball but only managed 2 shots on target both of which Hradecky in the Monaco goal was equal to and we finally recorded our first league victory of the season.
Good game Jason, good luck for the rest of the season.
