"So pleased to start off this competition with a win, Bristol are probably the weakest team in the competition on paper, but Gaz is no slouch in as caretaker, I knew theyd setup a strong defensively and on the counter, I just hoped our approach would still be enough to get it over the line. It proved to be the case with goals from Mehdi and Flo, the game could of probably ended in a draw but our quality just about shone through, winning the first game in competitions like this is important as defeat in the first game makes it much harder to recover, the fact this competition is now named in my fathers honour makes this first win all the sweeter"
Great win for us away at the Stadium of Light. We were able to play a few youngsters/backups and still get an important three points. Pacheco in particular had a good game and hopefully he can continue to develop.
Dolberg also on the goal sheet again, he’s started the season brilliantly.
Played Sunderland, good game.
We are getting our strikers in for some extra practice after this one! 31 shots and zero goals
It was quite an open game, and it's telling that their keeper was man of the match, oh well, a point on the road isn't bad, gg dude
Some decent performances this season, so feeling fairly positive still
Tactically beaten all game but we held our own and created enough chances to perhaps win on another day. Progressing from this group is going to be hard so a point is okay but at how we’d have wanted all three here. In the end our equaliser came thanks to our two offensive subs, two 14 rated lads who played some sublime football to make sure we left with a point.
