Well first game in the DPT group and we hosted French outfit lyon and Jason great team and good manager we expected a tough hard battle and that was the case close game we slight edged it but not much in it atall and happy for the win great start.
What a fantastic return to Europe, in a tough group, away against a good prem side.
We dominated the game from the start, with star player Mar Antonio picking up 2 goals in the 1st half.
Our extra depth this season has already proved vital with Almiron starting the last two wins with Lozano out injured, last season that would have spelled disaster.
Good game Jamie, the scoreline is a bit harsh on your side but the result seems fair.
absolutely brilliant result for us here. Hardest game of the group on paper away to Andy’s juve. It’s a really solid start to the group and not one I anticipated despite our good start to the season.
There is no doubt that we have been lucky today, we didn’t deserve to win this and would have even been fortunate to Nick a point looking at the stats.
Im sure AB will be annoyed at this, I imagine I’d be.
I wasn’t expecting much given we were missing Phillips but a nice surprise to read this after doing my hammy last night
Played AB, unlucky here no doubt, you get the chance to put it right soon.
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
We started the match with TA, which seems that it does not matter to the Engine, they had quite an eventful match by keeping pair to us and they were lucky to score a goal, which after tactical changes saw them getting the TA and scoring immediately again.
It was a dead match by then, leading into HT by 2, not happy with that, the engine was humble enough to help them score a 3rd goal as soon as the 2nd half started.
With nothing else to play for Brighton dropped their awesome performance and allowed Milan to score one 15 mins before the end of the match.
Nothing to comment on, dominated the match and got nothing out of it.
What a poor way to start the competition, at home against a team missing a very key player for them in Phillips, with 7 defensive players and TA to start with, we go 1-0 down almost immediately. So frustrating.
We then come out of our defensive shell and match them up with P and pull level before the half hour.
At this point we reverted back to our starting set up and looked to push on, only to fall behind again just short of the hour mark.
Leeds wrapped up the game with the last kick of the game and this result is hard to take.
I then went on to look at the stats many hours after seeing the result and being annoyed by it, only to find that we dominated the game, 60% possession, 10 shots on target to their 5 and we scored 1 vs their somehow 3. Tim got it right when he said I'd be annoyed.
Anyway, we need to pick ourselves up and play the next 5 games, but if they're going to be like this, get us in the DB Cup next season!
a pretty dominant display from lazio here. We came in with Memphis Depay missing through injury.
But we went 5 at the back, and the unpredictable C tactic,
we had 61% of the ball in play, only 4 shots on target but we scored 2 of them, the stats were relatively closer after this but we are pleased to run out with 3 points,
