Easy does it, though I hadn't realised it was the second no show we have faced so far this season.
We considered changing tactics, but it worked out well anyway
It was nervier than it looked, as we didn't start scoring until the last 20 minutes, but finished in style
The stats indicate we were good value for the win
The only downside was the injury to our top middy

PSG 1 Barcelona 2 (aet)

Ed being a bit hard on himself, this was a closely fought game (9 shots on target each) but PSG were definitely unlucky when you look at the stats as a whole.

It's a terrific result for us without question but it could just as easily have gone the other way. Jesus notched again and also pleasing to see Mahrez get off the mark.

Hoping for an easier tie in the next round.

Juventus 3 - 1 Lazio

An impressive victory for us against a quality squad which sees us progress into the second round.

After Monday's 4-2 defeat in Barcelona, we knew we had to bounce back and we reverted back to the C tactic that has worked for us in the past and it gave us TA to start the game off.

After 18 minutes, A_Isak gave us the lead after an audacious lob that beat the Lazio goalkeeper. 17 minutes later and we had a firm grip of the tie as Antony scored his first goal for the club since joining pre season to double our lead to 2-0.

At this point we switched up pour tactics to P to match Lazio, however this 2 goal lead lasted less than 5 minutes as Lazio battled their way back into the game just prior to the break.

Lazio would have wanted to get into half time at 2-1 and come out in the second half searching for the goal that would level the time, but we scored our 3rd of the game through MOTM F_Wirtz on 44 minutes to restore the two goal advantage.

The second half was P vs P but turned into a bit of a non event and we ran out 3-1 winners to secure our place in Round 2.

Statistically it was an even game, with us slightly shading the stats so Lazio will feel hard done by, perhaps a 1 goal win would have been more appropriate.

knew we had to try something against a quality manager, but this just wasn’t our day,

we managed to score only 1 and tbh it was more than we deserved.

Lyon 2 - 0 Inter Milan (AET)

a tricky tie to come away to so early in the cup and one made harder as we had no idea who we would be facing as Jason was away petting lizards for work, the game was very open we had and they had multiple chances to score with neither team amazingly actually doing so with 50 shots on goal between us. The game went to extra time and Lyon scored late into the first half of it and then we went for it but got caught at the back and they scored late into second half and that was that, we have went out two seasons in a row at first hurdle in a cup we historically do well in so it isnt good enough. gg Ray

Meh, another shitty start for ROE Cup, last season was the same crap. Maybe just should play random sheets and f it..
