BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
an astonishing performance and one that’s been coming for awhile as we have dominated a few games since my return and either drew or had wasteful games, today wasn’t one of those games we knew Atletico had a defender out and we knew if we want to chase them down in the table we need to go for it and we did. It was a smashing performance and puts us a point behind them in the table the goal is to try and take that 6th spot now but we don’t have much time left to do so. Gg mate
Where did this performance come from? In such a crucial stage of the season we have gone on a great run. And this all but secures our position in the DPT, now to try and finish as high as possible, with Lyon up next. Prize money is important at this stage to try and build on what is now a relatively successful season. (Europe was our goal)
Unlucky Niall. It seems your keeper had a complete disaster.
Dominant performance 38 vs 13 shots but we made heavy work of what should have been a routine win.
With PSG on our tails we really need to improve our goal difference.
Lisbon's collapse gives us an intriguing scenario for our last 2 games.
We are keen to avoid the embarrassment of finishing below the one-hit wonder - which just requires us to park the bus away to PSG next to secure 3rd. But going for the win would give us a great chance of finishing 2nd and CL seeding.
I'll be consulting my secret advisor before making any decision.
A great performance by us after weeks of dross. Just one of those games where it all clicked into place for us for a change - ironically without Jesus as well.
A sore one for Gaz but he can take a lot of pride in his performance this season, hopefully he can clinch 2nd spot and that CL seeding.
Big congrats to our rivals over in Madrid. They've been relentless of late and have raised the bar with their brand of attacking football so fair play to them.
We're guaranteed no worse than 5th which is acceptable. Still a slight chance of getting 4th but unlikely.
Unlucky Gaz - as I say great season on the whole mate.
This match showcased the pinnacle of Real Madrid's performance since I took charge. With an incredible winning streak of 13 games, we've certainly had some fortune on our side, avoiding significant setbacks lalthough we did have the mid-season injury and suspension crisis to contend with which we helped mitigate by buying quality back-up. However, I firmly believe that we fully deserve the championship title. This marks my fifth EFL1 Championship victory across the two FFO versions, equaling the record set by the club legend AB (although not achieved consecutively). And we accomplished it in a remarkable fashion.
Overcoming a formidable title challenge from Lisbon, we rallied from behind and defeated both Lisbon and Roma, the main contenders, to seize the lead in the race. The streak of 13 consecutive victories was vital, especially against a spirited Lisbon side that could have won the title in any other season with their record.
We now find ourselves 11 points clear of the second-placed team and a staggering 16 points ahead of PSG, the previous champions of FFO1 and considered by many as the best team on paper. Interestingly, nobody predicted Madrid as the title winners. The popular choices were PSG, Roma, and other dark horses, but I openly declared our intention to go for the title and emerge victorious. I had confidence that my team would peak this season, even though we were considered the third-best team on paper. Through effective management, we have surpassed expectations and ultimately dominated the league. This achievement stands as my greatest triumph in the game thus far, given the presence of three football powerhouses and 10 or 11 other teams capable of winning the league with good form and luck.
Nonetheless, there is no time to rest for the wicked. We must maintain our focus for the final two games as we have additional objectives to accomplish. We will continue to strategize and plan for the upcoming seasons.
I would like to express my gratitude to those who have publicly and privately offered their congratulations. Your support is truly appreciated, and it demonstrates class on your part.
PSG 3 Sevilla 2
Even game which we managed to win. We got the first goal and opened up to give our GK chance to try and redeem himself after previously performing poorly. Goals for the front 3, but our keep managed to concede 2. makes no difference whether we finish 3rd or 5th so will continue to go through the motions.
GG Stew, and congrats on avoiding the drop.
Next up Roma at home, which i would like to win to keep our 19 game run at home going, and help Lisbon get the CL seeding
Congrats on title Steve. Emphatic margin which means the rest of arent left thinking about "what ifs" in individual games
Another head scratching hammering and beginning to forget how many of these we have had this season now. It has been a season of mainly ups with some incredible downs. Like the other games the performance was acceptable. A shot count of 23-17 with a defender missing away at a champions league side more than adequate and we would probably get a result 5 games out of 10. Milan got slightly more than their share on target and us slightly less but even with that luck against us the scoreline was still a shock versus the stats. It has become quite obvious that 4 defenders in this league is not enough and our goals against of 86 (7th worst in the league) is embarrassing.
Manager Simon Marsh added "Some days everything a team hits goes in and we have had a number of these this season. We are looking to resolve this issue next season and whilst this may reduce our ability to score goals if we are to challenge further in the cups and perhaps secure a few more league points we need to sort the defence out. We aim to be harder to beat next season and make these kind of results a thing of the past".
Good news was the increase of Dumfries to 19-14-5 defender.
A win in a 9 goal thriller. We went after Valencia from the start and it backfired just 5 minutes in as the visitors took the lead, only for us to pull level on 7 minutes.
We raced into a 3-1 lead with goals on 17 & 25 minutes and seemed to be in complete control.
Valencia had other ideas as they scored on 28 & 40 minutes to take the game into half time level at 3-3.
After the break we retook the lead on 58 minutes and added a 5th with 20 minutes to go and again, we thought we'd wrapped up the points but Valencia came back at us with a 4th on 79 minutes to make it 5-4 and it was a very nervy last 11 minutes but we saw out the win to take all 3 points.
Statistically it was a fairly even game, probably the right result just with loads of goals. Good game Sanchez.
Sporting Lisbon's Nemesis struck again in the Nou Camp as their brave Title bid finally came to a shuddering end in Spain as they got battered.
Windebank matched Barcelona's formation and tactics but came up short as Barcelona dominated their Portuguese opponents.
It only took four minutes for Barcelona to take the lead when Berchiche volleyed the ball past the desperate Lopes. Barcelona really wanted this victory as the subs invaded the pitch and started filming the celebrations with their smartphones.
Sporting Lisbon tried their hardest to get back into the game but Barcelona looked to have far more energy as they edged the game and no one was surprised when Carvajal headed the ball in the back on the net to give Barcelona a 2-0 lead in the 38th minute.
Windebank ordered his players to go on the attack and that was about as effective as racing a Porsche in a Robin Reliant as Sporting Lisbon capitulated in the from that moment on.
In the 43rd minute Barcelona were 3-0 up and the game dead and buried when Gotze slotted the ball past Lopes.
Straight from kick off it was 4-0 when former Sporting Lisbon midfielder Raphinha header the ball past crestfallen Lopes who now was suffering back pain due to picking the ball out the back of the net far to often.
The humiliation was complete in the 50th minute when White found Berchiche who got his 2nd and Barcelona's 5th as Sporting Lisbon's Title ambitions ended with two games to go.
Barcelona dominated possession with 59% and created 19 chances to Sporting Lisbon's 8 with Barcelona having 10 shots on target to Sporting Lisbon's 4.

Well no matter what the score today Real Madrid would have been Champions, but that 5-0 stuffing will take a lot of getting over as Barcelona become the 2nd team to compete the double over us this season along with Real Madrid.
We deserved nothing today and with Roma breathing down our neck we need to ensure we win the last two games so that we can finish runners up and record Sporting Lisbon's highest ever finish in their FFO1 and FFO2 history which would really cement me as the most successful Sporting Lisbon FFO manager.
Well done Livi always a pleasure playing ya and I will be doing my best to break this fucking hoodoo you have over me next season.
Big well done to Steve T on a well earned a deserved Title win keep it nice and shiny as I am coming for it next season.
