BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Pretty formidable result in the end but tainted by our third GK injury of the season (has anyone ever had 3 in a season?), but as usual we'll get on with it. It's pretty tight in the chase for second now City have settled the title, we just have to hope for a good sprint at the end. We showed what we're capable of and if only we didn't lose our GK, we may have kept a clean sheet.
Congratulations to Nick and Manchester City on winning the first Premier League trophy.
The game started off well for us as Mo Salah struck a crisp volley into the back of the Chelsea goal with seven minutes on the clock. Celebrations at Villa park were short lived though as centre back Jean-Clair Todibo inadvertently fired into the back of his own goal while attempting a challenge on the Chelsea front man and we was soon back all square. With Champions League football still to play for this was a tense game but a game in which the home side did have the better of. The winning goal came just past the half hour mark from a free kick just outside the box with Luka Jovic perfectly executing the effort over the wall to give us three vital points.
Expected loss, with sub keeper in the nets. We tried to keep it tight, and restricted them to 5 shots on target, however 3 went in.
We also had the surprise of leading for a while. Oh well, two more of these before the injury is over. gg dude
So frustrating!! Same old same old. Another game where we clearly have the better of the stats and the run of the game but yet another game where we drop points. It's bloody infuriating, it's just gone the way of most of our games this season, you can include last season in this too.
We did not absolutely batter them, but we clearly were the better side on the day but were unable to convert that in to a win. The end of the season cannot come quick enough!! See if we can do a few deals in the off season and hopefully turn our fortunes around next season. We really do deserve a run of good fortune.
Played Bridgey all the best mate.
Congratulations to Nick on a deserved title, well done mate.
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
Well it has to be said first, the double over our arch rivals is sweet, North London is certainly red this season.
After winning against Burnley in the last round, we needed something here and the players got a superb win away at Spurs to make it back to back wins after a handful of defeats that sees us now move back up the table and tied on 65 points joint second with Burnley, Man Utd and Spurs with three games to go so its going to be a interesting end to the season.
Played Ed.
Congrats to Nick on the title mate, we gave it a good go and tried to make it tough but we crumbled like an out of date Victoria Sponge. Great achievement mate.
We need as many points as possible now. We needed to say solid and keep the away side out, when they scored my heart sank. However, we kept in it and managed to score an equaliser and pushed hard for a winner. But the away side are strong though and a point is what we take away from the game.
3 cup finals to go, but they will be tough and with our relegation rivals playing each other it will be a nerve racking few weeks!
Good game Tim, on the stats you deserved more. Good luck with your final games!
Congrats on the title Nick, see you after the next game
Another great win for us against a tough side Leicester City they had res keeper in sticks so that certainly helped us but also we performed well too and id like to hope that we will be safe now from relegation good game Neil mate unlucky all the best last remaining matches.
TA, but we didn't create enough. I need to be more adventurous perhaps. A vital point but we have a must win against Sheffield United today, if we lose that is the end of our premier league campaign! The lads have been training hard, mainly shooting practise as they are not sure what a goal is. We have tried shooting with no goalkeeper in the net and some of the lads have been able to find the back of the net. Which is pleasing.
edit: and of course congratulations to Nick and Man City!
A deserved victory for Villa and no complaints from me at all, well done Villa. Its been a tough season for me ,as outside issues have had a huge effect on my game time. But Ive sheeted and carried on, hopefully be better next season. Good game mate.
