Through out the N that defeated PSG in the last game and they switched back to the 15 minute rotation. Probably should have started with C, but hey ho, game was weird as we seemed to be scoring against TA each time.
Most frustrating part was the red in the last minute, we are in a battle for Europe with Dortmund picking up points and need a full squad for the run in. Barca up next.
A wonderful result as Madrid clinched a minimum 07th place finish and champions league football. Still a shot at overhauling Barca for 05th place finish but unlikely given the fixture list remaining for Atletico. This was not a great performance today from a side who lack the tools to stifle the best in the league. A 20-12 shot count would 9/10 probably result in a Roma victory and only a ridiculous on-target total of 5/20 enabled the away side to take the points. Goals from Demirbay and Vinicius Junior won the game.
Manager Simon Marsh commented "We love to get one over the top sides in the league now and again and even better when its in their own back yard. Roma hammered us in ours so we are pleased to take a share of the points this season".
Frimpong improves his passing to become a 20-15-11 player.
Strong rumours surround the future of Saint_Maximin this morning who is said to have agreed an end of season deal to leave the club.
... Well, if it was last season in FFO1 we would be at the 38 games stage. However, although the failing contenders are throwing in the towell and losing their heads writing the wrong scorelines, we can't afford to let our foot off the gas. It's just the R38 cup in FFO2, there are 4 more games to go and 12 points available. We will be tunnel visioned in our pursuit of the title and will not stop until we have the trophy on the mantle piece.
Napoli tried to 1UP&D us, but that didn't even last a minute as we fired right back and eventually overpowered the home side to secure another convincing victory. We have other little targets and goals in mind as well. We want to hit that 3 goals per game average over the full season and want all 4 of our best strikers to be over 25 goals each. Onto the next one, GG Chris.
A solid win against this season's WM Cup winners and a team who have done really well this season, fluing under the radar perhaps.
We came into this game without our main striker A_Isak so knew it would be a challenge, but felt okay with gifting TA away knowing Lyon would play C vs us.
After an even opening 23 minutes, our Belgian striker C_DeKetelaere gave us the lead scoring his 25th of the season, perhaps trying to persuade us not to sell him at the end of the season.
6 minutes from the half time break, with the tactics P vs P, we doubled our lead through defensive midfielder Y_Adli's 11th of the campaign and we seemed to be in complete control heading into half time, with US now having the C vs P TA.
Into the second half and the game continued to be even, but Lyon couldn't take their chances, until the 88th minute where A_Morata got one back for the hosts but it was too little too late.
Statistically it was an even game so Lyon will feel a little hard done by in this one, but with this win we leapfrog them and think what could have been as back to back wins come after 3 straight defeats, 3 games where had we got something from them we could have been in the race for 8th.
We need to become more defensively sound next season so with some changes to come eos, that will be the next area to improve upon.
PSG 4 Leverkusen 3
Another home game = another home win, making it 17 wins and 1 draw from last 18. 33 v 19 chances but our visitors managed to tackle more than half ours. The superior GK and forwards were probably the difference, but it is frustrating to concede so many goals - 3 from 9 on target for a 22 rater is poor, and i suspect we have one of the worst 22 raters in terms of concede rates.
At least felix is doing the business at the other end, making his total 50 goals from 49 games.
GG Jason
Next up is a tough away game to lisbon, who appear to have thrown in the towel on their title chase, and are more likely trying to hang on to 2nd. 5 games is probably too large a gap to pull back over 4 games, but we will give it a shot
coming into the game the nerves are gettting ramped up,
but the boys did there best to make it feel easier,
in a 19 minute salvo Lazio pushed and pushed but were unable to make the advantage count, but on 20 mins Trippier converted an araujo pass into 1-0, the lead and the advantage to enjoy the ball, so much so that on 34 minutes, De Paul
got his first of the game, Celtic were struggling to keep up,
lazio were relentless in their pursuit, on 46, a calamity by walker and lafont gave the italians a 3-0 lead at half time.
De Paul and Depay made it 4 then 5-0 on 55 and 57 minutes respectively,
the only real action after the goals was the opponents having to replace Rashford late on due to injury,
Pulisic sat out his final suspended game, but does sit very close to a 4 game ban, will need to curb his temper,
another smash and grab loss it feels, we had the better opf the game but found ourselfs 3-1 down which seems to be the theme of our season, we knew how they would play but expected top beat AC Milan but als we lose and they get closer to us in the table. gg mate
This was the night that Sporting Lisbon's title dream effectively came to a shuddering end in the Orange Velodrome as Windebank charges got tango'd.
Sporting Lisbon threw the kitchen sink at Marseille dominating large parts of the match and creating endless opportunities but they came undone by a sucker punch in the 56th minute when Olaza found Castillejo who gave Marseille a very important lead.
The Sporting Lisbon players huffed and puffed for the remainder of the 2nd half but just could not find a way past the very impressive Atletico Madrid bound Donnarumma.
When they did the Sporting Lisbon players manager and fans knew it would not be their night as the woodwork stopped any hopes of a goal.
This was summed up in the 89th and 92nd minute when both Rensch and Lewandowski hit the bar and post respectively.
Sporting Lisbon dominated the game and possession with 59% creating created 22 chances to Marseille's 14 with Sporting Lisbon having 10 shots on target to Marseille's 6.

It was just one of those games tonight and with the amount of games fast running out we really could have done without having one of those games.
We were far the better side and really deserved the three points but the history books will show that counts for nothing as we lost.
We will keep plugging away but realistically the Real Madrid winning machine look like they will not drop one point let alone nine.
Well done Euan and best of luck for the rest of the season mate.
