Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Nothing has been working for us, so we threw caution to the wind and went all our A, in a hope that it sends the game into chaos and the engine loves us, turns out that wasn’t the case. In a fairly even game the quality of Madrid’s strikers and keepers shone through. On another day, with a bit of luck we could have got something.
with that horrible fixture run out the way, plus being swamped by injuries and suspensions we need to start grinding out some results to get ourselves back into Europe, still 10 games to go. Up next, AC, another team who can’t buy a win.
And there goes our title challenge - in true Barca style as well losing at home to the bottom side
Valencia have requested a few random sheets recently so we didn't quite know what to expect. We played 523P but Matt turned up and the supposedly weakened C came up trumps again even if we did have over twice as many shots etc.
Disappointing stuff and suddenly the final 10 games feel a bit irrelevant now. Traditionally this is where we slide down the table a few spots so I guess the aim will be to try and prevent that.
Napoli were the next opponents to enter the Estadio Jose Alvalade as Sporting Lisbon were looking to record their 10th consecutive victory and remain in top spot for Sunday's massive game at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Windebank set up his logic defying charges to attack with Napoli bringing their Italian cultured European tactic to Portugal.
Lisbon started like a house on fire dominating the opening proceedings in a very partisan arena, in the 13th minute Juan Mata was fouled by former Lisbon defender Hysaj who conceded a free kick. Rick Karsdorp hoisted the ball forward and little Juan Mata rose above everybody else to head the opening goal for the Lisbon Lions. Juan Mata was simply overjoyed pulling his shirt over his face in celebration after scoring his first goal since the start of this crazy run ten games ago when Sporting Lisbon beat Lyon 3-1.
Neither team changed anything and Lisbon were on fire creating chance after chance, in the 22nd minute Juan Mata roasted Okore and somehow delivered a unstoppable bicycle kick that Vlachodimos let slip through his hands to give Juan Mata his and Lisbon second goal of the game.
Lisbon changed formation and slotted back to their cultured passing brand of football with Napoli deciding to pass the ball as well. This brought Napoli a little more into the game but Lisbon were bossing proceedings and it was a surprise that the first half ended 2-0.
Five minutes into the 2nd half Juan Mata became provider as he knocked a through ball to the rampaging Luke Shaw who continued his recent scoring streak to make the score 3-0, ironically being the 3rd successive game in which Luke Shaw has scored four goals in.
Two minutes later Alex Telles after some fantastic skill found the the man mountain that is Casemiro who rounded Vlachodimos and slotted the ball in the net to make it 4-0 to score his first League goal since game 9.
Lisbon continued their domination but could not add to their tally and the final whistle went to scenes of joy as a convincing victory cemented a 10th consecutive victory and news of Roma's defeat to Lazio was confirmed.
Sporting Lisbon travel to Real Madrid on Sunday who are there current closest rivals following their victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
Sporting Lisbon had 62% possession and created 23 chances to Napoli's 8 of which Lisbon had 13 shots on target to Napoli's 6.

Wow what a performance that was out their today and those players have delivered something quite special winning their 10th League game in a row. I have been managing long enough to know that does not happen very often as a team I have managed has only done that once before and that was my Premier League winning side Brighton and Hove Albion.
I have told the players we need to keep this winning run going and we have the ultimate test on Sunday when we visit Steve Talbots squad of superstars, who apparently have the best bench in FFO due to their awesome managers superior planning and huge Financial clout.
The rhetoric coming out of the Santiago Bernabeu has now had the dial turned up to maximum, following weeks of derogatory and dismissive comments from one of the games elite managers and one of the best sides on paper in FFO.
These are the games that every manager in FFO want to be involved in and the players will embrace the occasion with no fear as we will set out to play the game on our own terms. We know that Steve Talbot has all the pressure on his over inflated shoulders and we will no doubt face the cautious Counter Attacking big Defensive tactics Steve Talbot likes to hide behind when the pressure gets too much for him.
That's what caused him to choke last season when he ended up empty handed and we can see cracks in his persona that are reminiscent of that epic failure last season.
Let's be honest here the potential embarrassment of losing to a manager and side that he has been so dismissive and derogatory to since he won at our ground in the reverse fixture must be sticking in his throat and their will be a lot of nerves in the home end on Sunday and we need to do our best to take advantage of that!!!!
Good game Chris and bets of luck for the rest of the season mate
Leverkusen had one defender out which limited their options here. They came at us and fair play, as they made it a close game. As Jason says our extra quality was the difference, we took our chances and put Leverkusen one loss away from the red sea in the form table. GG Jason.
Elsewhere, it was decided Roma wasn't the best team in Rome and Barca slipped on a bannana. At the moment it looks to be between Lisbon and Madrid for the title, but we are not (fully at least) counting out teams as far down to PSG at the moment. Unfortunately we are down 2 key players for the visit of Lucky Lisbon. Maybe in a masterstroke, we did bring in Godin in a transfer from the failing PSG this week which could very well save us. Nevertheless, Lisbon are on a fantastic run and will visit us in good spirits and seeing us in such a weakened state, surely they have a go. This is their one shot.
Absolute shocker from the Galaticos and looks like our season has crumbles as we still 5 tough away games to come.
We had players missing but I thought our back-ups would be good enough. Obviously not.
I'll be rooting for Gaz along with the rest of FFO against the ruthless one no doubt.
Time to start the rebuild I think - decide which of these overpriced primadonnas I'll be moving on.

Roma way was given a lesson here. The lesson was don’t think you can turn up, play the same way and expect to win.
Going into the tie we had no expectations at all. But to come away with all 3 points in such different circumstances is a bonus.
roma had an outside chance of catching windy, and we are just trying to get enough points to stay in the dpt positions. But still a largely disappointing season,
After a few good results, we knew this one would be a tough ask away to a very good Atletico Madrid team. Both teams predictably set up with C and two goals in the first 16 minutes gave the hosts control of the game.
We switched to P at 1-0 down but at 2-0 we went for it by switching to A but an error on my end, we didn't change formation.
We pulled a goal back on 18 minutes and switched back to P, only for Madrid to double their lead after 24 minutes.
Into the break 2 goals down, we knew we had work to do but I feel we left it too late, with our 78th minute strike giving us hope but the home team held on for the win.
Statistically they were the better team and deserved the win, good game Marshy.
After the mauling at Juventus we were keen to get a victory in this one. A victory would ensure no late run from Juve to finish above us whilst attempting to erase the horrible defeat earlier in the season. Ansu_Fati was like a man possessed with no less than 11 shots in the game. He opened the scoring early on, Vinicius doubled it, and Romagnoli made it too much for Juventus and all three points went to the home side.
Manager Simon Marsh commented "A big win which I think clinches a champions league slot for us and also puts us well in front of Ac Milan. A top-7 spot looks good right now and we havent given up hope of chasing down a side or two above yet. I had to have a word with Fati after the game because he was being a real greedy little bugger. It must be hard with all the transfer news around his name but he needs to remain level headed and play for the team. I think Fati was trying to prove his worth to the opposition manager who didnt value him too highly".

Odd game. Due to injuries we had to play 2 midfielders as forwards and our opponents opted for 1fw. Despite having fewer shots to weaker shoooters we somehow managed to win, making it 12 wins from 14 at home. Don't belive we can catch the top 2,but 3rd is our target
Unlucky niall
Another game, another iffy performance but this time we get the three points even though we did not deserve it, but we have been on the other side so often in these games where we have been the better team and walked away with a point or nothing so. Sevilla gave us a scare and ironically the two departing players in Cuadrado and Olmo scoring the goals, we have made a few changes this week and continue to chase the pack ahead of us for pride and prize money stakes now. GG mate
