    Valencia 1 5 Roma

Routine victory spoilt by the last-minute sending off of Spinazolla. Until then it was business as usual for the Roma A. Might need to splash out 40m on an overpriced player for backup!

Lucky Lisbon continue their crazy run as PSG & Barca fall further back.

We are still to face our tough games. Every chance for Lisbon to do a Leicester now.

      Napoli 1-0 Leverkusen

Another disappointing performance, not only are we not picking up points, but we aren’t scoring. A big concern, Europe is looking like a distant hope.

      Good game chris

The struggle is real. Ups and downs galore. Never any consistency, all down to me.

          Barcelona 3 PSG 3
A point away to Barca is probably a good point, but it doesnt help either team in the title race. Barca are our bogey team and i considered resting the half of the team that were one booking away from a suspension, with the more important CL SF 2nd leg around the corner, but i'm not a fan of such tactics if they can impact the title race. So i played the strongest team possible and left the suspensions to fate. It is disappointing to be pegged back after leading against 10 men, but the red card to the home team was an unfortunate random event and had they kept 11 players the stats might have been more equal. This result likely ends our remote title challenge - whilst people expect lisbon to implode, i realise i am not going to pull back 8 points against both Roma and Real Madrid over 11 games. Draws have been our problem this season on our quest for goals.
          Good game Livi

Inter Milan 0 Sporting Lisbon 2

Game 31 saw Windebank's charges rock up to the San Siro Stadium looking to continue their rich vein of form and get revenge for their 7-2 battering dished out at the Estadio Jose Alvalade earlier in the season.

Inter Milan played the same formation 5-3-2 and passing tactic that was used in game 10 with Sporting Lisbon also playing passing tactic but with a defensive midfielder.

The opening stages of the game saw Sporting Lisbon slightly on top but it was a 28th minute switch to counter attacking that saw Sporting Lisbon grab control of the game.

Devyne Rensch read the run of Robert Lewandowski perfectly and Lewandowski made no mistake to score his 27th goal of the season and giver Sporting Lisbon the lead.

Both sides changed tactics with Sporting Lisbon going back to their more cultured passing game and Inter Milan tweaking formation to embrace the European tactic.

Inter Milan grabbed control of the game but in the 38th minute Luke Shaw broke free of his marker and dispatched a perfect shot to make the score 2-0.

Windebank changed formation and instructed his side to hit Inter Milan on the counter attack as he looked to secure a massive win for his unfancied side.

In the 60th minute GS instructed his side to attack trying to salvage something from the game but Sporting Lisbon held tight and the final whistle was met with wild scenes of celebrations from the away support as they had just witnessed their hero's secure their 9th straight win to remain three points clear at the top of the table.

Both sides shared 50% possession with Inter Milan creating 7 chances to Sporting Lisbon's 6, however Sporting Lisbon had 3 attempts on target with Inter Milan only mustering 1 attempt on target.

            Windebank's Post Match Comments

That was a very tight game today and to secure a 2-0 win against GS at the San Siro is a massive result for us today and a huge three points.

The game was not pretty but the boys took their chances when they arrived and as a team we defended very well which was reflected in the fact that Inter Milan only managed one attempt on target.

To get revenge for the battering we suffered in the first fixture is very pleasing as well.

That's nine victories on the bounce but we still can't shack off the mighty Roma and Real Madrid who are ready to pounce if we suffer a dip in form. Their goal difference is so superior that we know we need to earn one more point than them over the last eleven games. There is a little breathing space between us and Barcelona following their draw with PSG today.

Our destiny is in our hands but we still have to face Real Madrid and Barcelona at their grounds and Atletico Madrid, PSG and AC Milan at our home.

            Can the fairy tale continue????

Good game GS always a pleasure playing ya and very unusual to actually beat ya!!!! Best of luck for the rest of the season mate especially games 33 and 37.

              Barcelona 3 PSG 3

Mixed feelings after this one. A draw against such a strong opponent isn't bad but as Ed said it's a result that really doesn't help either of us. We were 2-1 up half an hour in when our on loan defender got himself a red card so I guess to play the next hour a man short and come away with a point is ok but you do wonder if we'd have got more if we'd managed to keep 11 on the park.

The top 3 all won again and I have to say anyone who wasn't taking Lisbon seriously before really need to start doing so now. I wondered how many points they would get in their last 3 fixtures all of which were very tough and they've got 9 out of 9. Excellent from them so full credit to Gaz for that.

We're 5 behind now but still have Lisbon to play so we have to keep going and believing. Surely be more twists and turns yet.

Anyway good game Ed - I knew your Discord comments about fielding a weakened team would be a load of shite lol

                Real Madrid 4 - 0 Monaco

Monaco are often a tough nut to crack but today it was plain sailing as we coasted to an easy 4-0 win to keep up the pressure on the two teams above us, and the 1 below us. We've been here before though and know the score. Madrid are just concentrating on themselves and taking every game as it comes. Last few days have been busy in Madrid as plans for next season are already being hatched. Don't limit your challenges, challenge your limits. Madrid will be challenging hard both this season and next.

                  Juventus 10 - 0 Celtic

Wow, what a win! We knew who we were playing for once and just threw everything at Celtic.

The game started A vs A so we knew goals were on the horizon, but 18 minutes in and the score was 0-0 still, but we took the lead through J_Gvardiol and we changed tactics to P, then doubled our lead a minute later after a M_Odegaard strike.

We switched back to A and on 21 minutes the tie was over as we scored our 3rd.

We stretched our lead 3 further times on 39, 41 and 44 minutes to go into the break with a 6-0 lead.

Into the second half and we added goals 7, 8 and 9 on 50, 51 and 52 minutes to make it a cricket score with the 10th coming on 78 minutes to wrap up the scoring.

Statistically we obviously dominated Celtic with 33 shots on target alone. We now sit just 6 points behind the CL places so that gives us something to push for after a terrible season. Good game Sam.

Inter Milan 0 Sporting Lisbon 2

I am not sure what game Gary was watching but it was a different game from me, we deserved nothing today and got nothing it was the final strae, the performances have been poor since my return and some defenders have settled into a weak mindset and some others have looked afraid so we have made changes, deals have been made and players with lack of heart will be leaving the club, most this week, changes are coming and form will pick up, Champions League is the key and we go again next season with a new squad who will play like my team once again where our home patch will become a fortress. gg mate, good luck in the title fight

Bayern Munich 3 Atletico Madrid 1

Both sides were missing 2 key players but perhaps the home side had the greater flexibility to adapt to the issues set. Henderson is having an absolute nightmare at present and his season darkened further when he was beaten twice in his first 2 shots of the game inside 6 minutes. An uphill battle from there and a Frimpong striker ended up being a consolation only. Bayern have had a poor league campaign but there is no doubting the quality the side has - they were the first side to win a trophy in FFO2 and reached the quarter finals of the Champions league. Nobody would be surprised to see them have a late run of victories to finish a more respectable position.

Great result .. always enjoy beating Drum in any ESMS game! With the imminent collapse of CofE this will be the only game where we compete!

A lack of self awareness from Lazio in thinking they have a divine right to beat us - at the start of last season they were streets ahead of us, but there is now only a gap of 2 points in main ratings between the sides!

An amazing early strike from Jose settled it .. we edged possession and kept chances to a minimum ...

Special mention of Beltran, whilst Sevilla's Musso and Nunez outshone the 2 players they swapped with in preseason - DDG and Pulisic ...
