    Leverkusen 0-1 Inter

My old player Klostermann coming back to haunt me the little b$$$$rd, it was a pretty even game against Inter but they had the finishing touch.

    Good game GS.

Our poor run of form continues and we need to resurrect it in order to avoid missing out on Europe again.

      Sevilla 1 3 Roma

We were pretty dominant here. Partly due to some strange tactical choices by the Sevilla boss.

Poor finishing though meant we were nervous until the 3rd goal went in on 85 minutes.

Everyone else won so no change at the top:
      • PSG are still lurching
      • Gaz continues his lucky streak
      • Bayern & Juve are no-where

        Rangers 0 - 4 Real Madrid

Good away win this verses a solid mid table side who have taken points from some big sides this season. 3 of our 4 goals came from defenders which is good for the team effort but bad for the abs distribution (if you care about that, which we don't, well not too much lol). All the other contenders (and pretenders) won, so it's as your was and roll on the next one. GG Aarron your doing a good job with the best team in Glasgow.

          Sporting Lisbon 4 Lazio 1

Sporting Lisbon faced another Italian side in game 30 looking to extend their winning streak to eight games. Today's opponents were a side that share a City and stadium with last games victims in the shape of Lazio but this game was to be played in the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Drum is a wily manager with a very good team and despite playing the last few games 5-3-2 counter attacking Drum threw a curve ball and set his team up to play 4-3-3 Normal tactic. This gave Lazio tactical advantage as Windebank opted for the European tactic.

Windebank looked nervous as Lazio dominated the opening stages culminating in Lazio taking the lead in the 12th minute when Pulisic delivered a great cross to Mazraoui who slotted in the rebound after Lopes saved the initial effort.

Both sides changed formations and tactics but Lazio still kept tactical advantage.

It would take something quite special for Sporting Lisbon to get back into the game and that moment arrived in the 17th minute when Juan Mata found Luke Shaw who unleashed a goal of the season contender in a 40 yard screamer to draw Sporting Lisbon level.

Lazio switched formation and tactic again but still held tactical advantage but the game was very even as the home crowd drove Sporting Lisbon forward.

Another piece of pure magic happened in the 32nd minute when Matteo Politano went on a mazy run, skipping past Mazraoui before unleashing a powerful drive to give Sporting Lisbon the lead scoring his 15th goal of the season.

A formation switch and tactical change saw Sporting Lisbon gain tactical advantage for the first time in the game which saw Lisbon dominate the rest of the first half but the score remained 2-1 as the referees whistle brought the first half to a end.

Sporting Lisbon were repelling everything Lazio were throwing at them and were slightly on top, so there was not much of a surprise in the 61st minute when Eden Hazard roasted Mazraoui before crossing the ball to Luke Shaw who's crafty half volley made the score 3-1 with his 2nd goal of them game.

A minute later Robert Lewandowski found Matteo Politano who volleyed the ball into the back of the net for his 2nd of the game and 16th goal of the season to make the score 4-1.

Windebank shouted for his side to park the bus and that his side duly did as Sporting Lisbon saw the game out to record their 21st victory of the season and complete and impressive double over Drum.

Sporting Lisbon had 53% possession and created 15 chances to Lazio's 11 of which Sporting Lisbon had 11 shots on target to Lazio's 7

          Windebank's Post Match Comments

That was an outstanding performance today and a crushing victory against a great side and manager. I have to admit I was pooping my pants when I saw how Drum had setup especially with me going E. I should have expected that really as Drum is a quality manager and likes to shake things up even after playing a certain way for the last few games.

Thankfully we conceded quite early and equalised very quickly which enabled our changes to come in effect and start controlling the game.

This is a massive victory and three points especially as 2nd to 7th all won their games as well.

Their are twelve massive games to go and we can only focus on ourselves, next up we play GS Inter Milan who slapped us 7-2 at our ground earlier in the season. That is going to be a massive game and my boys will be looking for revenge although the chasing pack will all be expecting a Inter Milan victory.

Pleasure as always Drum, great game and best of luck for the rest of the season mate.

            Marseille 1 Barcelona 2

Was expecting Marseille to roll out the 4222A again but they must be sick of getting hammered and switched up to a counter attacking approach which certainly made things a little more awkward for us.

Stats highlight that we were dominant but it took a late switch from us to A to see Jesus grab the all important 83rd minute winner - fair play to Marseille for pushing us all the way. The top 7 all won so it's as you were once again.

Next up PSG bring their sea of green to Camp Nou. After a shaky start they definitely appear to have hit their groove and with the squad they have it's pretty much as tough a fixture as there is. Player for player there isn't a Barca lad that would get into their starting eleven so that illustrates what lies in store for us. But if we want to maintain our title challenge we are going to have to find a way.

Well played Derek ... not sure why the tactical choice was considered strange .. based on your expected use of A I rotated between the 2 best options to counter it?

We took an early lead and perhaps I should have simply shut up shop, as we kept with the game plan and were 1-2 down by minute 16 ..

Unfortunate to meet them with only 3 fit defenders - which restricted our options ...

Good sub appearances from Blas and Barkely - both in contention to start on Sunday ....

5 pts from DPT places with 12 to play ...

                E isn't good against A Stew. And 3 Dfs with N isn't a good idea either.

                  AC Milan 0 - 2 Juventus

A brilliant win away from home against an AC Milan team who are having a good season by their standards.

We started the game with TA and 2 minutes in, we were ahead. At this point both teams switched to an attacking approach (Surprised myself again!) and we doubled our lead within 3 minutes to send the visiting fans into raptures.

We took TA again after this and despite the hosts being the better team for the remainder of the game, they were wasteful and couldn't break us down as we saw out a 2-0 victory.

                  Good game Mati.

                    GG Jason

A pretty dominant display this one for the home side which was only dampened by news that 7 of the top 8 had won, although the gap to 9th increased a further point and guaranteed champions league qualification grows every nearer. Two bookings for the two players on 8DP means a weakened trip to Munich in Round 31.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "This was a great performance and we need to grow into a side that is consistently able to do this rather than one that has been up and down in the season. We gave very little away and it was nice to get a clean sheet. We have mirrored sheets of those in an Amsterdam brothel this season".

Marsh added "We are close to CL qualification and gradually getting the squad ironed out. Under is getting close to making his minutes now, Cairney out on loan is almost there and Pepe on loan to us is almost there We have money in the bank and only 1 starting player with a main rating of 18 now".

Asked whether the club will be adding with 2 players suspended Marsh added "No, we will go to Munich with what we have and do our best to get a result. Under will get a welcome 90-minutes and Glik is likely to come into the defence".

                      PSG 4 Valencia 1
Surprising set up from the visitors opting to play an 11 rater DF leaving 17 DM/MFs on the bench. Wasnt looking too good after we went into the break goalless, but a four goal salvo in the opening 15 minutes of the 2nd half sealed the victory. AGG 20 again, but only 1 yellow, and now 6 players 1 booking away from suspension. Tough decision for the next game - do we rest half a team to ensure they are all available for the CL 2nd leg, and concede the title race. We never get anything at barcelona so its probably silly to expect any different this time!

Yeah can’t even argue the write up tbh. It was just a teaser going in front, I’ve not made the right calls at the right time and this was the same again. Go in front against the leaders and play into their hands.

had to switch it up a bit as the C was predictable.

To be honest that has been the season.

but I’m not one to moan about luck, there are a lot of underperforming teams, and a lot of teams performing really well.

                        it’s good to see.

gg windy. Big run in mate

we scrape a win but a deserved one, Jason always puts the extra effort in against me so it was no easy task to come away and win, we have been drawing of late so three points is nice, klostermann with the only goal of the game, we haven’t scored enough goals this season but we hope that will Change soon. with champions league football probably guaranteed now unless we have a massive collapse I have focused on rebuilding for next season, we would like to finish higher but will actively be looking to do deals in a mini rebuild.
