    FC Porto 0 - 2 Schalke

After missing 2 post match press conferences, Manager Spero returns to the podium.

Apologies for having been absent previously we've had much going on behind the scenes lately. As for this evening's match, luck has finally swung back in our favor. We've drawn the previous two, one of which was a 93rd minute equalizer. It was nice to see us able to finish some of our chances this evening. It is a massive 3 points for us against one of the top clubs in our division.

Porto had a slight edge in possession and was on the front foot for much of the match, earning 5 corners to our zero. Probably the result of us setting up a more defensive structure to try and absorb as much as possible without conceding any big chances. In the attack, Polter has really found his position as an AM. He is now first choice pushing Correa to a bench spot.

    Good game Tim.

      Villarreal 2-2 Ajax

We have to be very content with the outcome of this game as for most of it the opposition simply outplayed us. We may have opened up the scoring after just six minutes but by just after the half hour mark Ajax were deservedly ahead and looked to be coasting in all honesty. Ten minutes into the second period we found a levelling goal but it was the away side that then pushed on looking for a winner but thankfully we held on for a point. We have to be better than this if we want to finish in a WM Cup competition place.

        PSV 1-3 Fulham

One where having a 16 rated keeper in the nets cost us I feel. We had the better of the stats, but let in 3 of 5 shots faced.
Unfortunately a couple of defensive bookings means our next opponents have a free hit basically, with 2 defenders out as well as our keeper, oh well one of those days. gg dude.

          Boro 3-3 Sociedad

Ahhh really frustrating. Leading 3-0 with tactical advantage and we blew the lead. It's just not happening for us at the moment and the inconsistency is really hampering any progress. It's just about as finishing as well as we can this season and seeing what happens.
          Well played Tyler, good game.

            Derby County 1 - Cardiff City 3

We travelled to Cardiff earlier in the season and lost 4-0 as Harris scored a hat-trick in the first 20 minutes including 2 penalties. The first aim for the return fixture therefore was to improve the discipline to not give away those chances.

We lined up with a similar line-up to that which started the previous match against Ajax, and again there was an early goal for Cardiff which had me fearing that we were looking at a cricket score.

Before half time Cardiff grabbed a second through El Gharzi just before the break which saw us go in 2-0 down at half time. Both teams scored in the second half as the match ended in a 3-1 victory for the visitors.

Again, we gave up a lot of possession this match but unlike the Ajax game we came up against a goalkeeper in better form.

Good game Ed, good luck for the rest of the season.
