    Villarreal 1-5 Sociedad

First of all an apology to John, that result wasn’t deserved and it was a much closer game than the score line suggested. I won’t lie though, a big three points for us which keeps us two away from sixth place Schalke.
The home side went ahead but after we equalised the floodgates opened and we were pretty clinical in front of goal. Jordan Henderson’s quality in the middle of the park was quite a defining factor so maybe he will stay with us after all.
Unlucky Ian, good luck for the rest of the season.

      FC Porto 4 - 1 Watford

The big D was torn apart by the big A today. We hammered them from start to finish and got a very easy 3 points. Not much of a challenge but always nice to get three points.
A few extra minutes for some squad players felt like an easy opportunity to do that today and so it proved with a dominating performance.
The win puts us in second place, let's see what the rest of the season goes.

        Villarreal 1-5 Real Sociedad

This was another game in which we did nothing wrong and perhaps would hope for a better outcome with a bit of luck but at the end of the day we just cannot compete with a lot of teams in this league. We scored first, the away side then opened up and litteraly took us apart. We soldier on and will look to slowly improve the playing staff but with an ageing squad and no sellable assets this will be a slow process.

          Derby County 1 - 3 Middlesbrough

A solid win on the road, after a few poor results.

We came in with TA and after an even opening, we were awarded a penalty on 18 minutes which we scored to take the lead. At this point we switched to P while Derby switched to E, maybe expecting a C tactic from us at 1-0.

Derby drew level 10 minutes before half time and we entered the break on even terms.

The second half continued much like the first, back and forth and very even but as like earlier in the week we had our hearts broken by a late goal, it was our turn to steal the points early on with goals on 87 & 91 minutes to give us all 3 points.

Statistically it was a very even game, with Derby shading it so they'll feel hard done by after this one.

          Good game Johnboy

            Cardiff City 2
            J_Brekalo (13), T_Kroos (46)

            Booked: J_Vestergaard (13)

            MotM: T_Kroos (Cardiff City)
            HT: 2-2

Very disappointing display from a team that hope to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. In truth Cardiff are a good side with a very good manager so dropping points here was no real surprise, but it was the manner of the effort put in that most caught the eye. It seemed like the players were drained after their WM Cup heroics against Leicester City earlier in the week. The reality is that we were second best and were very lucky to get anything out of this game as the Bluebirds were by far the better side throughout especially once I blundered with the in-game tactical change that really put us on the back foot. But at least a draw keeps us in touch at the top. Thomas Muller signed off with his short stint at Molineux with a goal and MotM before leaving us to join Sheffield United.

Played Simon, unlucky not to take all three points.

Our next game sees us travel to the Netherlands to face table toppers Feyenoord in yet another tough encounter against arguably the best manager in the game.

              Derby County 1 - Middlesbrough 3

When we travelled to Middlesbrough earlier in the season they recorded a 1-0 victory with a goal 20 minutes from time that we couldn't respond to so we were looking for revenge going into this match.

We still don't have a lot of variety in the squad so we are limited in what we can do differently, but we tried! We fell behind to a penalty inside the first 20 minutes as Sanson fouled Dijksteel in the area and was rightly booked before former captain Billing scored his 4th of the season 10 minutes before half time to ensure that the scores were level at the break.

The second half was a fairly even affair, both sides changed some personnel but Middlesbrough scored twice in the last 5 minutes as the Derby defence flagged - not helped by the injury to Collins in the opening 20 minutes meaning that Domilson entered the field approximately an hour earlier than intended!

Victory for PSV means that we drop back 1 spot in the table although we face high-flying Ajax next time out, not a game I'm confident about!

Good game AB, good luck for the rest of the season.

I would have taken a draw away to Wolves before the game, such is the difference in the teams. On reflection we were unlucky not to win. Perhaps the quality of thier goalkeeper was the difference. Aftera terrible start we seem to have turned a corner and a few players have started to level up. Managed to haul ourselves into the WM spots and top half remains our target

                  PSV 3-1 Forest

Probably our best performance since I started caretaking, dominating the stats and playing well.
The counter worked ok, and we were 3 up before half-time
On loan Cairney had a great game, but it was a good team performance. GG dude
The only downside, and it was a big one, was the 3 week injury to our keeper, which will probably derail any chance of putting some results together, oh well.
