First Leg in the WM QF's at home against a Premier League team and we needed to get a decent result to give us any hope in the second leg. Both sides matched up fairly evenly early on with both taking a counter attacking approach. Roared on by the home support inside Molineux we scored with a beautiful solo effort from our leader in the middle of the park Oscar Melendo. Once we went ahead the Foxes adopted a more passing style of play which should have played into our hands, but they overcame that to grab an equaliser with barely 25 minutes of the game gone. After that the game ebbed and flowed and despite the fact we had the bulk of the possession and more shots on target we just couldn't seem to break them down for a second goal. Thankfully our defence and Manuel Neuer held firm to give us a draw which I felt was the least we deserved on the balance of play. It's going to be tough for us to overcome home advantage in the 2nd Leg against such a good side and manager, but we'll give our all. Fingers crossed we have no suspensions and/or injuries before that game comes round!!

Wolves 1-1 Leicester

I'm happy with the away draw, particularly given Wolves had the better of the stats.
We kinda expected the C, but didn't want to risk playing E away, so started by matching it, but that didn't go so well, letting in the early goal. We then switched up to a more attack minded approach, taking a chance to get back in the game, which I guess worked to some extent, but we were lucky to come away with a draw.

Lyon 5 - 1 Stoke City

Not a 5-1 game and didn’t surprise me with the loss. One more game left in the WM cup as we won’t be turning this around. Free abs and a couple of transfers will mean a settled side for the second half of the season. Hopefully make the second game more competitive.
