    Sociedad 3-0 PSV

Didn't expect to cruise this especially with PSV starting with the TA. We expected them to start with a P but got caught out with a C but they changed to the P after going a goal down. We changed formation and added a midfielder to try control the game a bit more and that worked well. The front duo of Dolberg and Sadiq were excellent and really worked well together. It's this kind of form we need to maintain if we want to push for promotion. We have David Silva coming back from injury which is exciting, his quality will only help even more.
    Played Neil, unlucky.

      Villarreal 2 - 2 Schalke

Villarreal finished an 88th minute PK to secure the draw. Despite having 65% possession we only managed 7 shots on target. I figured eventually our luck would even out and it did. Not too upset with the result, still picked up a point on the road. This does however drop us into 4th after Middlesborough picked up the full 3 points. We go again later this week where I suspect there will be a few changes in our approach.

      Good game Ian.

A fairly straight forward win for us here. WE dominated from start to finish, when they equalized against the run of play I felt a sense of doom come over me but that is probably because of the sort of season Leeds have had so far. Turns out I needn't have been worried as we ended up winning very comfortably even after conceding a penalty at the end.
We return to the summit of the table, way above where we thought we might be at the start of the season.

          Villarreal 2 - 2 Schalke

In all honesty we was very much outplayed in this game, the opposition gained a tactical advantage for a large spell and not only could have but should have taken all the points on offer. Some good defending and excellent goalkeeping somehow managed to keep us in this game with our defensive kingpin Hugo Mallo in particular having a belting game. Our aim for the season has to be qualification into the WM competition but even that will be easier said than done.

            Wolves 0

            Booked: M_Ihattaren (11), A_Kalajdzic (58)

            Fulham 0

            Booked: M_Pjanic (5)

            MotM: W_Orban (Fulham)
            HT: 0-0

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....................... Oh sorry you lost me there, better write something!! This was a drab old game where neither side got going at all. Only excitement came from the tetchiness resulting in three yellow cards. Very disappointing from our point of view to let two points slip away but the truth is on this showing a draw was a fair result. Without Melendo and Michael Cuisance in the middle of the park we looked devoid of creativity. But at least they are both back for the next game.

            Game Joe.

Next game up is a test against Freddie Kaye's Real Sociedad.

              Sociedad 3-0 PSV

It seems we have more to fix that a quick squad upgrade, the lads' confidence must be shot
This was a confusing read, given that I was recently caretaking Sociedad, so couldn't remember who was playing for me!
As Freddie said, we started with counter, but changed things around after going a goal down.
Stats wise, it looked an even game, so 3-0 seems harsh, our keeper had a stinker mind, only saving 2 shot and letting 3 in.
More changes needed maybe, gg dude

                Middlesbrough 3 - 1 Real Betis

Thought Betis may not sheet, or play attacking and they did the latter, with us gaining TA and scoring with the first action of the game.

We switched to P and after a half shaded by Real Betis doubled our lead from the spot with 10 minutes to go in the half.

We went on the hunt for more and thought we'd got our 3rd on 40 minutes only to see the officials not give it, however just minutes into the second half we had our third and the points in the bag.

The visitors did pull one back on 75 minutes but the tie was over.

Statistically we were much the better team so the win was a fair result. Good game Evan.

                  Watford 0-1 Ajax

Ill pmr as I’m currently covering, felt we set up well, P Vs L seemed in our favour, but we couldn’t break down Ajax who are having a good season with Alfredo, and ended up on the losing side.

Disappointed, sorry Tony, well played Alfredo

                    Derby County 0 - Nottingham Forest 2

Derby are having a very up and down (mostly down in fairness) season and we haven't been able to put any kind of run together so I didn't know what to expect when Forest arrived for our local derby!

The first half was an even affair although we were denied a penalty by VAR shortly before the break. 3 minutes after half time Derby were on the attack and had a corner which Muric in the Forest goal intercepted before releasing Awoniyi who, one on one with Ramsdale, managed to get it past the keeper and into the corner of the goal.

We changed things around after going behind but didnt manage to make any real inroads - indeed the next goal was a second for Awoniyi to take his total for the season to 12.

Same old story for Derby really, we don't score enough and we concede too many - we'll never be successful until we can remedy both of these things!

Good game Matt, good luck for the rest of the season.
