Blackburn Rovers 2 - 4 Chelsea Again we was just piss poor and now we're.just chasing the abs too give us a boost as I'd imagine we will fall to the conference this season Chelsea.great side great manager and doing well so far this seaosn all the best pal.
A vallient effort from the Tykes who made us work very hard for this result. The away side gained a tactical advantage for almost all of the game but we expected that and they came extremely close to taking something from the game. We nudged ahead just before the interval but it was later on in the game when most of the drama unfolded. Barnsley levelled the score with just eight minutes remaining and looked well set for a deserved point, the Aston Villa front man Luka Jovic had other ideas though as he smashed home a wonderful volley in injury time to break the hearts of the travelling fans.
Bloody hell, two league wins in a row, does the engine think we are someone else?
To be honest this was one of our poorer performances of the season so far! It was a fairly tight game and if anyone deserved to win, it was probably them, a draw or them sneaking it would probably match the stats so to get a win from this is definitely a bit fortunate but given our dreadful misfortune all of this season I feel zero percent guilty or lucky
Perhaps that's the trick. Be the poorer side on stats and you come away with the win.
So these two wins in a row are invaluable for us and puts us in a slightly more respectable position, although a vast underachievement still.
Unlucky Pete, well played.
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
So, the consistent inconsistency rears its ugly head. Two wins in a row and having brought a few players in decided to go for it and see what we can create. The answer is not much, we had a few attempts but not enough before Gueye gets sent off.
The main issue is we didn’t test the away side enough. I don’t mind losing TA at home but I’d like to have seen the stats 11 vs 11. We have 3 players coming in who will suit what style I want to play going forward. After that they’ll roughly have half a season to save us from relegation. I’m up for the fight, I hope the players are too!
Great win for Chelsea and another 3pts in the bag. Couldnt decide what to play in this one so went for it and pow great 4-2 win against a good team and manager. Unlucky mate.
We trailed early doors and given our recent form, we could easily have gone under but to be fair to the squad they retaliated quickly and started to get a foothold of the game. We turned the tie on its head with 2 goals in the first half before cementing the game just into the second half. It then turned into a back and forth game which was surprising not to see more goals given how attacking set ups are going these days.
But, it's a vital vital win, our home form in the league, is a saviour and away from home we're not good enough so we have to keep making home form count if we're to do anything this season.
We have a massive tie up next, as stated in Europe, 1 point will do but we have to be focused on the task, as we're doing a cracking job of throwing away all our hard work.
Shocking performance again from us and this means we won't be playing these tactics again. I saw what Southampton were doing and thought we'd give that a try. Every game we've conceded possession massively and against teams with less in midfield. Back to the drawing board and hopefully we still have time to turn this season around.
ust a month ago, Arsenal beat us 2-1 at the Turf Moor in the CL game. Last week we got a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium. Finally, we got a win today. We were the better team this time and deserved to win. Not much to add to our performance - a solid team play, domination in the midfiled and three goals from Guedes, Bergwijn and Ake.
Meh, no surprise in the result, only surprise was that we went ahead, and there were only 4 goals in the game, given there were 53 shots between us. As is the way recently, had a pop, but couldn't score more than them.
Some decent abs to be had, but points would be better really
Oh well, onto the next drubbing!
To be able to compete with the best roster in the league is a great achievement from us and even better when you fall two goals behind against the sublime team from Manchester.
After only five minutes played we lost Mohammed Kudus through a minor knock and we had to play with 14r David Turnbull. Massive disadvantage against such a quality team. It got from bad to worse when the visitors scored twice within eight minutes. Ruben Dias and Dusan Vlahovic got the goals and we found ourselves two goals down.
Noni Madueke missed a penalty after half an hour played and the chance to get us back in the game. We got our goal minutes before the break when Noni Madueke made up for his penalty miss. 2-1 down but all to play for in tve second period.
Five minutes into the second half we got back on level terms when Youssef En-Nesyri made it 2-2. The game was heading for a draw when Andreas Christensen popped up in the 90th minute to complete the perfect comeback. Wins doesn’t come much sweeter than this. Superb performance and even though The Citizens was better than us when looking at the stats, we’re over the moon with our performance in general.
Second away game on the spin that we have lost 3-2 so a bit disappointed to lose again after scoring twoce at a tough ground. We have had some good games against Burnley both in the Premiership and in Europe but today Burnley were the better of the two sides. We created more than enough to get something from the game in terms of chances, in fact we had more on target than Burnley but we couldn't take anymore than we did.
On to the final group game in the Champions League now for us as we look to make it through the group stage.

A great game and a close and respectful effort by the Barnsley men. We got a lot closer than we anticipated against a strong side and manager and despite losing to a late goal (and having one of our own goals disallowed) I’m pleased with the effort of the lads and we nervously await our next game against another good side.
