    Leverkusen 2-1 PSG

The usual PSG formation Hokey Cokey goes on, and for the last 15 minutes had me terrified. But luckily we held out, too many games we’ve lost points in the final 5 minutes.

Feared the worst when we went down to ten men at 0-0, but we accelerated into a two goal lead with some great play by substitute Doherty who made an immediate impact and Lemar who has been a great player for us this season.

A vital 3 points in the battle for DPT positions, but now McGinn is out for 2 games. Good game Ed, unlucky with your away form!

      Athletic Madrid 0 6 Roma

      Another failure for C.

Knew Marshy was going to roll out the predictable C and we considered going for the tactical bonus with E but The Roma Way usually conquers the weakened C so we just went for it.

We raced into a 3 goal lead but given our Celtic disaster wasn't confident on the win until the 5th goal went in.

Plenty of abs and looking forward to an abs feast against Man City next.

        Monaco 3 Barcelona 0

We've been struggling of late so I did feel a defeat was just around the corner - but this was just one of those farcical games you get from time to time. Over double the attempts on goal, P v N supposedly in our favour tactically etc etc but horsed 3 zip.

The kind of game that makes you wonder what the point of it is.

Anyway Johnboy is a good bloke so we wish him well.

          Real Madrid 4 - 2 Napoli

Have reverted to the E european style recently and it's been doing well as one of our alternative strategies, and / or a nice tool in our bag of tricks to mix in. This game was an entertaining one no doubt, and at one point was 2-2, but we showed our class and pulled away to secure a deserved victory that pushes us up into 2nd place leaping over Barca, and tucked in right behind the leader and ready to strike.

          GG Chris.

Another poor away performance, and couldnt really have played a stronger combo than 5113P. We shouldnt be conceding 2 goals against 10 men of a weaker team, but it is what it is. Conceded twice in 3 minutes and then faced a D. My sheets arent very reactive at the moment as i cant really be arsed, so when i go behind thats typically game over.

              Atletico 0 Roma 6

Knew Derek would go the predictable A and so we went C, and we would again and again given the same scenario despite the score-line. The mistake was moving to P at 0-1 down on 5 minutes. We only played C for 5 minutes but it has been proven before Derek fails to read things thoroughly as we saw once again this week when he broke the transfer rules (again)

The all important goal is often the opener. Had we grabbed it and maintained counter-attacking with home advantage then the game would probably have been a lot different. Attempt to attack Roma and you are going to need a lot of luck and this was one of those days where you dont get a lot. A shot count of 13-25 you could perhaps expect to lose maybe 1-3 or 2-4 at worst. We were battered at Juventus not so long back in similar fashion so all you can do is re-gather and go again. We only lost 3 points after all in this game and our league position is healthy albeit going into a difficult run of fixtures.

Roma have a great team folks and Derek has to be credited for that but stay safe and play C v Roma.

              GG Derek

                S_Reguilon (11), T_Hazard (42)

                Booked: P_Ng (62), C_Kouame (71)

                Sevilla 4
                W_Jose (49,71 pen), C_McGregor (58,90)

                Booked : L_Bender (9)

                MotM: W_Jose (Sevilla)
                HT: 2-0

Leading by two goals at half time I thought we might just pull off a shock result and grab some much needed points. But without two of our influential midfielders, missing due to suspensions, we just plain ran out of steam in the second half and Sevilla rolled us over to score four unanswered goals and take all three points. Sevilla were good value for the three points but I don't think we deserved to be beaten by two clear goals especially when the fourth came from the last kick of the game.

                Well played RainGod.

Next up a very pointless DPT game against Sheffield Wednesday where both sides are out with nothing to play for but potential injuries and/or suspensions!!

PS Sorry about the error Nick, one too many s's in C_Tolisso's name due to rushing with clumsy fingers and not checking!

                  Juventus 3 - 4 Lyon

A hard one to take today, especially when Lyon play A a lot, but come to us playing C. Anyway, C vs C and we're at home with a better team...we'd get the first goal right? Wrong!

Lyon took the lead after just 5 minutes and we had to go A, thus giving away TA. Lyon doubled their lead with 5 minutes left of the first half and took that advantage into the second half.

R_Leao came off injured just seconds into the second half and this is just how the season is going for us.
We pulled a goal back just prior to the hour mark but Lyon restored the 2 goal advantage within 10 minutes.

Once again we reduced their lead to one just 2 minutes later but within another 2 minutes, Lyon were 4-2 to the good and the game was over.

A late goal from sub R_Quaison made the scoreline more respectable but this is a very poor result for us and makes me think we should just play for abs until next season as this one is beyond saving.

Statistically we were the better team, but somehow Lyon's worse attacking players managed to outscore us. Good game Jason.

                    Sporting Lisbon 5 Marseille 0

This was a game where both managers decided to play vindaloo as they both decided to attack. You would think this should be a home win under these circumstances and thankfully that turned out to be the case.

In the 4th minute Robert Lewandowski saw his shot that hit the post fall to Frenkie De Jong who made no mistake dispatching the ball into the back of the onion bag to give the home side the lead.

In the 16th minute Rick Karsdorp was brought down in the area by Ilarramendi with Robert Lewandowski making no mistake for the penalty spot to make it 2-0.

In the 21st minute Devyne Rensch delivered a perfect corner Matteo Politano who kept his rich vein of current form going to make it 3-0.

In the 35th minute Luke Shaw saw his shot parried by Donnarumma but stabbed the ball home to put the home faithful in dreamland with the score moving to 4-0.

In the 63rd minute Matteo Politano completed a very impressive passing game in which he made 5 key passes earning an incredible 134 passing abs and 58 shooting abs as he found Robert Lewandowski who scored his 2nd goal of the game and Sporting Lisbon's last to make the score 5-0.

This game really could of been a cricket score with Sporting Lisbon having 65% possession and creating a enormous 31 chances to Marseille's 12 of which Sporting Lisbon had 17 shots on target to Marseille's 6.

This result sent shudders around the FFO world as Barcelona suffered their first defeat of the season losing 3-0 to Monaco who funnily were the first side to beat Sporting Lisbon this season. The Barcelona defeat means that somehow Sporting Lisbon find themselves top of the summit again with 37 points out of a possible 51.

More surprisingly little Sporting Lisbon are the first side to win 12 games across all 3 FFO Divisions.

                    Windebank's Post Match Comments

That was a breath taking display today and the abs we earned was a reflection of our dominance in this game and we thoroughly deserved the three points.

To see us at the summit again after 17 games is really quite unbelievable and I dont know who is most shocked me or the FFO big boys.

Steve T must be licking his lips as he now sits in 2nd place and does not rate this little Portuguese side so it seems like he thinks he has the title in the bag.

Normally it's Sevilla who blow an early lead, nice for it to be the other way round!

I felt the game would be won in midfield so gambled on dropping Nunez and put 5 in midfield ... was doubting it at HT but by minute 60 we were back in the game at 2-2 .. at which point Nunez came on to hopefully oupace tiring legs ...

It was a 71st min pen by Jose (MOM) that was the winner ... and DM McGregor, who has struggled for game time this season then got his 2ND in the dying minutes!!!!

Jorginho enjoyed his more advanced role than usual too ...

This was a real 6 pointer .. but with 4 teams above us also winning we remain in the bottom 6 .. but it is tight down there with Lazio only 5 pts ahead of us - and they top the DPT placings (#drumout?)

It's another 6 pointer next in the league with Marseille ....

                      Good game Ray!

                        Celtic 1-1 Lazio

feel aggrieved here, absolutely bossed this game, stats show we should have ruined celtic, but them Scot’s don’t give up anything,

Aouar got the goal and the man of the match, and so far all Mbappe has given is a yellow card.

we were nearly over the line but celtic huffed and puffed an 87th minute equaliser.

they had 2 shots on target DDG?

                          Monaco 3 - Barcelona 0

Having spent the last few matches thinking that we've deserved more than we've actually got from the game tonight was somewhat different to that!

We took an early lead as Cresswell got his second of the season in the fourth minute, before he got himself into the referees book 3 minutes later!

On the 15 minute markwe doubled our lead through Haidara with an assist from on-loan midfielder Soumare - 2 defensive midfielders combining to score a fantastic strike from distance.

Shortly before half time Haidara went from goalscorer to goal creator with the assist for Immobile to score a 3rd for Monaco, but I've been in this game long enough to know that even at 3-0 nothing is safe until the final whistle but we were able to hold on for the entire second half with Hradecky equal to everything Barcelona could throw at him.

A win for us, allied to positive results for the teams around us, means that we stay just on the edge of the DPT places but still very much within striking distance.

Good game Livi, we didnt deserve that! GOod luck for the rest of the season.
