    *sorry for the mistake JB.

    West Brom 0-1 Sociedad

Good win on the road in a game where WBA probably edged it and will feel hard done by. They caught us out early on tactically but at half time we mixed it up and that got ahead us ahead thanks to a Sadiq goal. He’s been in exceptional form this season.
The three points move us up the table a bit which is promising if we want to put a challenge for promotion on in the second half of the season.
    Well played Frank, unlucky.

      Villarreal 0 - 2 Porto

A very good win all be it a fluke one really. We did not play all that were and to be honest stats wise we were lucky to win and somehow it was even pretty comfortable. That now puts us into second and only a point off of first place. It’s an impressive season for us but the Martian of victory and closeness of the games over the season is not lost on me. There’s some good fortune involved here.
cracking win though, well played Ian. Unlucky.

        Villarreal 0 - 2 FC Porto

Another game where the defeat can only be put down to the difference in quality between the two teams. Both sides started the game with very similar tactics and formations but going a goal down we altered things around and appeared to get an advantage, we even managed to gain marginally the more impressive stats during the game. It wasn't enough though as the away side doubled their lead.

          Cardiff 4 PSV 1
We knew we would be facing a random, so felt we had to try A and hope it got us a win. When we saw a D i expected a 0-1 defeat to an own goal or penalty. But fortunately our 2nd FW had his shooting boots on and scored a hattrick, with our main forward scoring the other. The result still sees us joint 2nd bottom, but 9 point from 6 games suggests we may be turning the corner. Hoping to make some changes in the coming weeks.

            Schalke 2
            R_L_Cheek (18,78)

            Booked: J_Correa (10), S_Terodde (26)

            Wolves 4
            M_Ihattaren (10), Melendo (20), M_Cuisance (60), P_Struijk (63)

            Booked: M_Ihattaren (7)

            MotM: R_L_Cheek (Schalke)
            HT: 1-2

Overall I feel we were the better side, whether by two clear goals better is possibly debatable. But we'll take it. Mohamed Ihattaren didn't have the greatest of starts to this game getting booked on seven minutes. But he soon made amends by scoring the opening goal to put Wolves in front in this tricky away fixture. Despite Schalke equalising just eight minutes after our first goal the lads kept at it to build a nice three goal cushion before the home side scored a consolation goal late on. This win and favourable results elsewhere ensure we sit top again by a solitary point. But even so at this early stage in the season it is still very tight at the top end.

Good game Chris and welcome back to the game.

Next up we play host to Nottingham Forest.

              Middlesbrough 2 - 3 RB Leipzig

A tough one to take at home today. We lined up with TA and early on Leipzip took the lead, forcing us to go on the hunt for a response..which came just 6 minutes later.

Back to having TA but the visitors took the lead again 10 minutes from half time and took that lead into the break, but just a minute into the second half we pulled level once again.

Both times we pulled level I expected us to go on to win so to see Leipzig take the lead for a third time on 64 minutes was a big blow, one that resulted in them taking all 3 points.

Statistically, it was an even game so a draw would have been fair but on this occasion we come away empty handed. Good game Mike.

Up next is Porto, who sit just above us in 2nd so a perfect opportunity to right this wrong.

                Feyenoord 1 - 1 Bristol City

We scored a goal, but it wasn't enough against a decent side. I'd have taken a point before the match started but we couldn't turn our possession (61%) into anything more concrete than that and the shots and most importantly goals were pretty equal.

It means we haven't won in 5 now, but we've only lost once since round 7 and so keeping the points ticking over nevertheless.

Our thoughts now turn to Real Sociedad, who find themselves only one point behind us with after their win at West Brom, but they'll be disappointed to have lost influential midfielder David Silva to a late injury that will keep him out of a few games.

                Thanks Nick.
