Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
We needed a result to keep up with the pace and got one. A tight game looking at the stats but I guess we were more clinical in front of goal as a brace from both Mo Salah and Luka Jovic helped seal the tie. The final top two positions still very much hinge on the final group game, we currently sit top on goal difference but defeat in the final game could easily see us miss out on qualification.
Nice to get a win in the Champions League and a great one to get after we undeservingly lost our home game against The Toffees.
The stats was pretty even but goals minutes before and minutes after the break secured a solid away win.
Mohammed Kudus and Noni Madueke got the goals, Madueke with his second in as many games. Top performances from Etienne Green, Ramy Bensebaini and Mohammed Kudus. Some good abs gained overall.
Travesty of a result, given how we approached the game but when you finish with 10 men it becomes inevitable. Bit lost for words at how this one unfolded and despite being in a great position the last 2 games have proven what we've known for a long time, our goalkeeper and defence is a joke!
But we move on and just avoid defeat and we're through.... Sounds simple
We played a little mind games with Ed with the big D threat and this kind of put him in a bind with the group situation in mind, knowing a defeat and an Everton win would put PSG in trouble. They had to come at us and I decided to match them with the Madrid Method. We raced into a 3 goal lead but PSG have a quality squad and they came back with a goal before half time and a 2nd late into the game, but the damage was done and we took an important 3 points that both see's us win the group, and break the little streak PSG had over us.
As it was Everton couldn't do it, and both teams qualify. I'm not sure how much of an advantage it really is coming 1st and all the teams remaining that are in the mix qualifying are excellent teams so it's the luck of the draw really. But we can now relax in the final game and perhaps play around with a few things. Good game Ed.
I think we could have won this one, but it was not to be.On the face of it a 1-1 draw is not a bad result, but alas it marks the exit from the Champions League for us.We kept going after going a goal behind, and Edouard got the equaliser late on in the game.Well played Nick, and good luck in the remainder of the competition.
Real Madrid 3 PSG 2
Not sure about the mind games. I simply decided which player i was resting and looked at the sheets I previously submitted with the chosen XI and picked one of them. Clearly picked one where i didnt expect to go behind since i dont think there were any positional or tactical changes. All irrelevant really with Everton losing. Only thing affected is that i play at home in the first leg of QF.
Elsewhere a great game for Gonzales. The original plan had been to restrict him to 17.799 so he could be loaned next season, but hes already broke that point before midseason, and on track to start next season as a 16-19 DM if anyone fancies buying him.

Well this was some game. With 80 mins played we led 2-1 and controlled our own destiny but after an 81st min equaliser for Atletico we switched to A as it was essentially win at all costs but we basically just capitulated instead conceding 3 goals in the next 7 minutes.
Maybe I could have done more tactically to try and close the game out late on when we were 2-1 up (which our opponent did when he went 3-2 up) but it is what it is, we just have to take it on the chin and accept that we're out. We either win the competition or don't get through the group seems to be the way of it in my time here. A disappointing night for the football club.
Still we congratulate Marshy and his boys. If they can beat Villa in their final game they'll progress, we play a Man Utd side still trying to clinch a quarter final spot so we'll have an obligation to try and make them work for it.
Its felt like every other game we must play against Barcelona. Not a great sight when you them undefeated at the top of EFL1. In the three games to date Madrid faired quite well only losing the EFL cup game when hampered with losing gk Henderson in the first half. Tonight was finally a chance to take them at our own soil. With both sides needing victory to stay in the champions league it proved a real blockbuster.
Barca led on 33 mins 0-1. Atletico drew level on the stroke of half time for 1-1.
Bionic Raphinha gave Barca the lead again on 57 minutes. 1-2
Vinicius drew the game level on 81 minutes at 2-2 to start a crazy last ten of the game.
Diaby made it 3-2 on 83mins
With Barca now chasing the game Atletico countered to make it 4-2 on 85 through Vinicius.
88th minute and Romagnoli made it 5-2. Alaba immediately scored to make it 5-3.
This seasons other games finished
Barcelona 0 Atletico Madrid 0 (League Round 7)
Barcelona 3 Atletico Madrid 2 (EFL CUP)
Barcelona 1 Atletico Madrid 1 (Champions League)
Thankfully we do not meet again until League Round 28!
Manager Simon Marsh reported "From where we were after three games its just a bonus to be in with a shout of progressing out the group stages for the first time. Unfortunately for us we still have to win the last game against Aston Villa and nothing less will do. Its going to be a hard task but one we are excited about"
Yet another awful performance for us in a must win game. I went with an attacking approach trying to get the games first goal but when we had a DF go off injured and replaced by a 10 rater, the flood gates opened.
A goal 10 minute before the break was followed by 2 more around the hour mark.
Bayern added a 4th before we got 1 back, but then they added a 5th to round off the beating.
Statistically we were well beaten, as probably expected with us playing A away from home with pretty much 10 men. Our good start has turned into a nightmare and now we're pretty much out if not actually. Frustrating season continues for us at Juventus.
Good game JB, you'll be living off that one for a while!
A pretty decent game between Burnley and ourselves that we very nearly took all three points from with ten men but gave them their second leveller of the game on 88 minutes to give them a share of the points which in all fairness is nothing less than they deserved. Bremer was sent off on 51 minutes meaning he will be missing for the next league game but on the whole, a good result.
It leaves us top of the group with a game to go, Id have bitten a hand off and taken that before the group stages started so all in all, its all in our hands going into the last group stage game.
