BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Very poor game, a bit of a none even really other than their goal which they managed to nick. No real complaints, we were rubbish today to be honest. Uninspiring effort all around I am afraid.
Maybe I will try and change a few things up a bit next game. See if that helps. It has been a good start to the season really for Porto on the whole so can't complain in the conference in that respect.
Played
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
Well going off stats and the scoreline you can see it were 50/50 game at the start I thought eh up were onto a winner here taking lead etc but the constant battle between there pair were solid and they got one back then they took lead and then went on to winning the game we tried but this result puts up back at the bottom of the conference we need to shape up if were going to move up this table we do have another addition joining soon that should be able to contribute to the team so let's see what happens but great game shame we lost but happy with performance.
We were tactically outplayed in this game and as a consequence it is very disappointing to drop off the pace in the table. Bristol City took full advantage of our frailties and all we could seem to do was to just about drag ourselves back into it after going down each time. But the final goal from the home side on 82 minutes buried us. The Robins looked very good value for their three points and the stats backed that up. Only upside for us was we had no injuries or disciplinary points!
Very well played Jon, fully deserved.
Next game we take on Ajax at Molineux in the WM Cup.
A tight one but thanks to a goal from Florent Mollet we won the game. Neither teams managed to play good football in this one and it was a typical game where the one who stroke first was going to win it. Happy to get back on winning ways and that’s all we take from our encounter against Dragoes.
Well, well, well. I obviously no longer have a clue with this and its a wonder that the board hasn't sacked me. Everything I have tried. the FFO gods have looked at it and said 'that's rubbish you are getting clubbed'. I knew this season was going to be tough but so far it has been ridiculous.
Another hard luck story for Villarreal who initially took the lead in this game thanks to a Guido Carrillo spot kick early in the second half but Ajax hitting back with two further goals of their own in a match that also saw Ian Greaves boys hampered by a red card to back man Enzo Roco who now misses the next game thanks to a one match ban. Greaves vows to struggle on.
2nd hosts 1st in a top of the table clash. We came in on the back of 6 straight wins and Sociedad had us well scoped countering us from the off, however after a goalless first half, the hosts switched up tactics giving us TA and our confidence grew.
This change didn't have the impact that I'd hoped as with 71 minutes on the clock we fell behind to the games only goal and despite our best attacking efforts to get back into the game, we failed and Sociedad ran out 1-0 winners.
Statistically it was an even game with the hosts edging it in shots/shots on target so it could have been a draw but on this occasion we suffered a defeat.
Fulham 3-4 PSV
"Well we hammered West Brom and lost by a goal and today we got hammered by Fulham but won by a goal, so swings and roundabouts really, we did play well and the lads were clinical in front of goal, it was a much needed win but Fulham will feel hard done by, its going to be quieter on transfers going forward, hopefully the team settles and we start to move up the table a bit."
Top of the table clash, and second placed Sociedad came out on top.
As Andy said, we started with tactical advantage against the predictable C, but planned to switch it up to P second half, as this has worked pretty well for us so far this season, even with giving up the tactical advantage it paid off.
That man Sadiq scored again, and Capa had a good game at the back. The two new lads did ok, maybe it will take them a while to settle in. We just about deserved the win, in a tight game, and solidify our position amongst the chasers
Unluckly, whoever the Boro manager is..
We edged this close encounter and slightly shaded the stats, but only just.
Had the tactical advantage (N v E) at the start and of course conceded, but thankfully pulled back level only 4 minutes later before pulling ahead just after the half-hour, when we then matched up tactically (P v P). Another goal from Wolves before Tommy Conway's late winner.
It's been a tough run of matches so good to get first win in 5 matches - a result that sees us sitting in 9th.
Unlucky Ray, thanks for the match.
Next up is bottom of the table Atalanta... and having taken a quick look at things I really can't see why they are there and I don't fancy our chances too much.
