    Bayer Leverkusen 2 - 0 Lazio

despite creating more and being more in control of the game, we just couldn’t break them down. They held firm at everything that was given to them, only 5 on target from 15 was always going to not be enough.

back down to earth after this week,

the failed and probably disrupt Talk of Bayern, has sat in the players minds,

then the crash against rangers. Now leverkusen turn the pressure screw up.

time to go back to basics,

    gg.

      Lucky Lisbon 2 1 Roma
Roma dominated the early parts of this game & KDB sent the fans wild with a glorious scissors kick goal on 22 minutes, Roma continued to press for a 2nd goal but squandered a hatful of chances then against the run of play struggling Lisbon somehow managed to equalise just before halftime.

Roma came out fighting in the 2nd half & continued to dominated the game as they tactically outclassed the witless Lisbon manager. However they failed to convert their chances & Lisbon got the ultimate sucker punch goal and carried off all three points.

        Sevilla 3 - 0 Valencia

We win the spanish derby aka the battle of the spanish stripes!

The stats dont show it but felt like we were always control in this game ...

Barkley came in for Blas in the only change from the big win over Frankfurt, and we stuck with the same formation ...

A Nunez goal from nowhere in just the 2nd minute gave us the lead ... with on form Jose doubling it on 13 ..

Jorginho could and should have got the 3rd on 17 ... instead it took a last minute pen to complete the score ..

Two consecutive games won by a big margin - something we didn't manage last season ...

Feels like the new players are now gelling .... and Jorginho has become a pivotal part of the team

          Leverkusen 2-0 Lazio

A week ago we went 3-0 up against Roma and then saw that lead disappear due to poor game management. After going 2-0 up against Lazio we didn’t want to make the same mistake, so switched to conservative mode to see out the game. This gave Lazio possession and allowed them to dominate the rest of the game but they couldn’t break through despite us dropping to 10 men towards the end of the game.

Hopton: “I was disappointed to see the inter job and Bayern job, slip through my fingered via managers weak decision making. With myself fully focussed again on Leverkusen I’ll be looking to push into the European positions and let Bayern suffer as an inferior German team.”

          Well played Drum

Sporting Lisbon 2 Tearful Roma 1

The great tactical transfer king and his superstar team rolled into the Portuguese capital on their ego bus last night expecting to put little Lisbon in their place. The big man was lauding it up prior to kick off in a pre match discord press conference belittling Sporting Lisbon and mocking their start to the season stating that his superstars would put little Lisbon in their place and they would start sliding down the table as they did not have the players or manager to qualify for the Champions League let alone mount a serious title challenge.

Derek Hughes usually plays the Roma way has he has such confidence in the team he has assembled that he believes he can score more goals than 95% of the teams he plays.

Windebank knows that his little side is in the 95% so expecting the attacking mantra of Roma set his team up in the Normal tactic to hopefully give his little side the maximum chance of a shock win.

This backfired dramatically has the great tactical genius from Rome who tailors his managerial technique on Khan from Star Trek 2 dropped the Roma way and instructed his Galacticos to pass the ball and retain possession.

This worked a treat for Khan, I mean tactical king errr sorry Transfer king (he has given himself more names that Apollo Creed in Rocky 4 I cant keep up) as Roma dominated the first 40 minutes taking the lead in the 22nd minute from a wonder goal for KDB.

Then out of nowhere Rick Karsdorp found a hole in the lazy Roma defence passed the ball to the wing and then headed in the cross to pull the game level in the 42nd minute.

Roma were rattled and their superior manager gobsmacked. There had been no tactical changes until the 60th minute when Eden Hazard made way for Frenkie De Jong, Windebank also gave the wink to his players to go on the attack and take the game to the over inflated egos from Rome.

The Estadio Jose Alvalade erupted two minutes later when Juan Mata sidestepped Ben Chilwell and shot from the edge of the box, the ball slipped through Szczesny hands and Sporting Lisbon had done it they had taken the lead against one of the biggest ego's and biggest sides in the EFL.

Now Khan instructed his superstars to attack and Windebank went back to the Normal tactic. Would Roma get back in the game?

Would they fuck Lisbon smashed the fanny out of them for the final 30 minutes with Roma hardly touching the ball.

The final whistle went with Derek Hughes looking like he had sucked 30 lemons as he walked off the pitch to "who the fucking hell are you"

Roma dominated the stats with 65% possession creating 17 chances to Sporting Lisbon 8 with Roma having 11 shots on target to Sporting Lisbon 4.

The biggest stat was the score line 2-1 to Sporting Lisbon who were renamed lucky Lisbon by a sour grape Roma manager who looked like he had sucked a further 100 lemons in the Roma post match interview.

I am delighted with that win today against a manager I have a lot of time for. We must be doing something right has a team especially when the mighty Roma deviate from the Roma way when play our little side.

I was expecting this to be a backs against the wall game today especially with the quality Roma have in their side, I said to the lads before the game and at half time lets keep it tight and if we are still in the game on 60 minutes we will go for it.

That is what we done and lets be honest once we took the lead Roma done nothing and were totally dominated for the final half hour.

We are currently top of the League and have had a great week this week winning all 3 games against big teams and great managers but we are where we are on merit and I can not be prouder of my team.

Next week is huge as we are away to Lazio and home to Inter Milan games we will be expected to lose it is up to the boys in the dressing room to keep proving the doubters wrong.

Good game Derek its always nice dicking over your team and its been a while

              Juventus 2 - 2 Real Madrid

"Looking at the stats, this was the very definition of a draw and we are okay with that. 4 points from 6 on the road verses the Banks Bros is a decent ROI. That said, I am a little disapointed to not walk away with three points with Juve grabbing a late equalizer.

Tactically, we won that battle as our Johan Cruyff inspired european system held advantages over the home sides counter attacking style. We did switch to attacking for a spell when the home side began to outshoot us for some reason, with home advantage seemingly giving them an early edge and they did got the opening goal. We then scored two to go infront and went back to countering the old lady with a switch to counter attacking ourself... but alas - the late goal, despite Real dominating the second half. Good game Andy."

                Monaco 0 - Inter Milan 2

I'm disappointed to lose this one but I don't really know why! Inter are generally stronger than us in all areas of the pitch and Hamza is enjoying a great run of form with them (save for the defeat at Juventus!)

We got to the halfway stage with the scores level at 0-0 but 10 minutes into the second half Dembele broke the deadlock opening the scoring for Inter, who then bagged a second 5 minutes later and we couldn't find a way onto the scoresheet.

Inter were even able to bring on Jay Spearing who was last seen as an over-age player with the Under-21's and we couldn't capitalise.

Last season we had a good first half to the season and fell away badly, this league season we've scored 1 point from the last 12 and I'm not sure that there are 2 teams worse than us in the league - it could be a very long season!

Good game Hamza, good luck for the rest of the season!

                  Juventus 2 - 2 Real Madrid

We've struggled to get going so far this season and after our Champions League victory over Bayern, I looked at who we played next......Real Madrid, great!

Steve read my set up like a book and set up like JB did mid week, however after a 20th minute switch to A, we took the lead 2 minutes later.

Things were looking good until we edged closer to half time, goals in the 43rd and then 2 minutes into stoppage time flipped the game on it's head in a matter of moments.

At this point the tactics were P vs their C, a sign of respect maybe that the mighty Real Madrid would play C vs us with a lead....

The second half seemed like we might come away with nothing, however we were brought level in the 81st minute by R_Leao and we both reverted back to our original lineups for the remainder of the game.

Statistically it was a very even game with lots of chances created, but a draw was the right result and we're chuffed to have held one of the better teams in the league to a draw.

                  Good game Steve.

                    Atletico 2 Dortmund 2

                    gg Niall

Surprised to see the opposition line up so defensive looking given they have been more adventurous against better teams than us. We will take it as a compliment.

We looked relatively comfortable after Vinicious opened the scoring early on. However, 2 goals in 2 minutes completely turned the game around and only a very late goal from Diaby rescued a point.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "16-points from the games we have faced is about on par. I think an excellent start would have been 18 so we are pleased we are here still unbeaten especially given the number of key absentees we have had".

"Finally eh. We won the game and looked decent. A clean sheet too. We need to look to build on this and make sure we start playing like this more often. We have set the standard now and we need to make sure our performances dont drop below that level. Good game Mr F, see you again soon"

                        Frankfurt 0 Barcelona 7

Was 90% certain we'd be facing a T sheet and after a slow start we eventually gave it the treatment it deserves.

Nothing more to say really, other than these T sheets make a complete mockery of the game and ruin it for the entire league.

                          Atletico Madrid 2 - 2 Borussia Dortmund

On one hand, this wasn't a bad result against one of the two remaining unbeaten sides in the division, we went behind an early goal. M
y initial thoughts were that we were going to end up on the wrong side of the result. Thankfully we managed to keep the deficit to just one goal, which meant we were still in the game at half-time. , on the other hand, it was two points dropped as we allowed them to equalise late on through some sloppy defending.

We got off to a great start after the restart with the first action of the game when Reinier
when got an equaliser for us. The Dortmund fans were still celebrating the equaliser when Rafael Borre put Dortmund in the lead on 47 minutes. Atletico Madrid had an opportunity to get back on terms when they were awarded a penalty on 67 minutes when the Dortmund keeper fouled in the box, luckily for Dortmund Their goalkeeper redeemed himself when he saved Fati's spot kick.

Both sides continued to create chances and on 88 minutes Dortmund's defense went missing which allowed an unmarked Moussa Diaby to draw the game level, which was disappointing from Dortmund's point of view.

                            Monaco 0 v 2 Inter

                            "Fighting for the top"

Didn't look like we will get any goals out of this game however in the second half the team clicked led by the Legendary striking force which is J_Spearing. Monaco did well to annoy us but thankfully we broke the deadlock and never looked back.

2 big games against Leverkusen and SCP. Where we can hopefully clip the wings of Windy's high flying side and teach a lesson to Jason.
