    Roma 4-3 Leverkusen

We played the Roma way, and took a 3-0 lead. Rather than shut up shop, we decided to carry on punishing Roma, but what happened next was a reversal of the punishment with two goals disallowed for Roma on the way through.

hopton: “It was excited, it was fast and the last two games have really showed what we are capable of, if we carry on playing like this we will start to see the points fly in.”

    great game derek.

      Lazio 2 - 1 Monaco

Never had a good record v monaco, and based on our recent form we should have been in the game,,, well we were.

a rare Fabinho goal inside 18 minutes gave us the lead, monaco switched and got TA, ultimately they scored, so game on again,

on 46 my worst nightmare, Memphis stupidly sent off, so 1-1 but man down,,,, however we scored soon after the red,,,,

somehow we held off the charge, which puts us up to second,,,,,

however rumours flying Drum been offered the Bayern hotseat have been dismssed,,, as "speculation"

the harmony of the team is buzzing at the moment,

      stats, just favoured us,,,,

        Bayern Munich 2 - 3 Real Madrid

"I predicted what Bayern would play. But decided not to counter them (and) to stick to our goals for this season even though away from home, I knew it would be a coin flip game. Bayern had forecasted they would "try something different" for this game, but I didn't let that alter my plans as I correctly guessed that was just some very poor entry level 1 mind games, and we stuck to our very, big, guns and continued on with the Madrid Method.

We raced into a two goal lead though Mendy and Diaz who is on fire at the moment, but was pinned back to level pegging before half time. We changed a few things around tactics wise, a few times, and the extra effort got us the breakthrough with a winner from Sterling. A nice three points away from home.

I heard the news that Jon Banks was sacked after the game by the Bayern board - and I'm not going to lie to you ... I was bloody delighted! F'n delicious!.... Steven K. The Dark Arts Master. The Rutheless One. The Sewer Rat has taken out one Banks for good. The Big Banks with the big quivering bottom lip. So Long-Jon. Sayōnara! Good night Vietnam! Maybe I will obtain another Banks resignation to my collection as well soon when we play Juve next, after seeing Little Banks result tonight alongside their similar medicore form this season, wow, what a glorious night"

          Sevilla 1 Sporting Lisbon 2

Going into this game top of the League winning was of utmost importance for the little DPT Sporting Lisbon. As the game kicked off the Sporting Lisbon fans were a bit confused with the Normal tactic being used, something they have not ever seen or at least hardly ever.

Was this going to be tactical genius by Windebank with his scouts telling him that in the majority of games Sevilla flip from Attacking to European tactic in the vast majority of games, or was it going to be a disaster for the early League Leaders.

It looked like it was going to be a disaster with Sevilla taking a early 7th minute lead through Jose slotting in the rebound that came back off the post from his initial effort from a Jorginho cross.

The Sporting Lisbon players beefed out their chest as Windebank barked at them to Attack and get back into the game. Sporting Lisbon were having slightly better of an end to end game but the first half ended 1-0 to the Spanish team.

Sporting Lisbon then got a huge slice of luck when the referee made a very poor decision by awarding a penalty when a very good tackle by Blas on Politano was adjudged to be a foul.

This was a gift for the Portuguese team and who better than Robert Lewandowski to unwrap the present as he pulled the game level with his 7th goal of the season in the 51st minute.

Blas was a man on a mission and you had to feel for him and Stew Herd in the 57th minute when Blas goal was ruled out for offside.

Sevilla gained tactical advantage from the 60th minute when Herd told his players to go Normal Tactic and they dominated the next ten minutes and looked like they were going to go on and win the game.

Due to Sevilla being on top Stew Herd told his players to match Sporting Lisbon and go on the attack and the game became end to end.

With the game heading for a draw Rick Karsdorp found Devyne Rensch who sent the away fans wild with a cheeky lob to make it 2-1 too the Lisbon Lions in the 87th minute.

The final whistle went with Sporting Lisbon victorious in a thrilling game. Possession was 50% but Sporting Lisbon created slightly more chances 21 to 18 but the Lisbon Lions tested the goalkeeper more with 13 shots on target to Sevilla 6.

Phew what a result for the boys today. Sevilla gave us a proper game and it could have gone either way in all honesty. We don't usually get dodgy referee decisions but we did today with the penalty and its tough on Mr Herd who quite rightly will not be happy with that decision.

However the Sevilla keeper had a blinder today a today and I think the 3 points we won were just about deserved.

Good game Stew and best of luck for the season

Have you heard the news that Bayern Munich manager has removed himself from management

Yes I have and it is really disappointing news in my honest opinion.

Every manager in FFO have had to deal with tough times and yes I can imagine JB is hurting this season. I mean the season did not start off well for the Yorkshireman losing to my little side especially the amount of abuse he has dished out to me and my team since I became Sporting Lisbon manager.

I can imagine he is feeling very sorry for himself with only 4 points out of 21 and already 14 points behind the current League Leaders.

But I thought Yorkshiremen were meant to be big and tough and not run away when the going gets tough. Obviously that is not true and I have to say it is very disappointing but if the man has had enough he has had enough I suppose.

But I will say this I might get abused for "being busy with work" when things go wrong but I never run away and always try and turn things around but maybe thats because I am a South Londoner and we do things the right way. We take things on the chin and live to fight another day no matter how bad things get result wise. The history books will show that one of our biggest critics and abuse throwers run away with his tail between his legs 14 points adrift of us after a measly 7 games.

            Roma 4 3 Bayer Leverkusen

We were 3 goals down after 22 minutes here and I had to check I hadn't played a 11 rater in goal - but no it was just Szczesny up to his old tricks. With 4 Roma players booked you can see how this affected the players as they battled to get back into the game.

We took a risk pushing Nacho up and leaving ourselves vulnerable at the back but with MotM KDB starting to the control the game we got ourselves level in the 50th minute and then Spinazzola snatched the winner late in the game.

Poor finishing from our forwards but we were rescued by 3 goals from our defenders.

              Bayern 2-3 Madrid
"On the face of it, pushing Madrid so hard wasnt too bad but I dont have the swing with the new board that I had with the old one. They have decided Tuesday game in Turin will be my last in charge and after 7 years I think a break would be good for me. We will go to Turin looking for 3 points and give the new man the best chance of getting out of the CL group.

I would say good game to Talbot but the guy is a dick"

One of the hardest games of the league season and not the best place to visit with two key players missing.

We did what we could and set up a little more conservative but hopefully with enough to snatch a lead to defend. As it was we created little and had to rely on some last ditch tackling and saving to keep us in the game.

With a point seen as a very welcome one we shut up for the last 15 minutes to remain undefeated in the league

                  Napoli 2 - 1 Juventus

A poor result for us today, last week we beat a fellow Italian team, this week we fall victim to one and we continue to struggle to get our season up and running with yet another poor performance and result against a team (Without their main striker) who we should be beating comfortably.

I expected some kind of defensive set up from Napoli and opted to throw caution to the wind and go all out attack.

Napoli countered us with C and the first half was a non event with hardly anything happening, however the second half started well with Odegaard giving us the lead just 4 minutes in and we looked to push on for more.

We maybe expected Napoli to come at us but they stuck with their C tactic and with 15 minutes left to play, they got their break through and with 2 minutes left to play, they claimed all 3 points.

Very frustrated at the minute, it's been a poor start for us and this needs to be addressed. We made big strides in the pre season but that's yet to be put into action on the pitch.

Statistically Napoli were the better team so well done to them on the win, I expect better from our lads but have no real complaints about the result. Despite going ahead we were second best.

Good game Chris, seems I struggle to beat you these days.

                    Lazio 2 - Monaco 1

So we follow up our draw against Roma with defeat away at the, season so far, bigger team in Rome and I do have mixed feelings about this match. We went quite early on but managed to equalise through the transfer-listed Schopf making his first appearance of the season and as we looked to hold Lazio level we were handed the advantage after Depay was sent off with a straight red card pretty much on the half time whistle.

At 1-1 and with a man advantage starting thte second half this should have been the cue to kick on and take something from the game, but 5 minutes into the second half Trippier grabbed a second for Lazio and we weren't able to find a response.

So while we're disappointed to lose, we have travelled to one of the top teams in the league, missing our best passing defender and our best attacking midfielder through suspension, and following an administrative cock-up we now have a slightly inferior defender in on loan, and put in a good performance.

Good game Drum, good luck for the rest of the season

Felt we did just about enough to sneak this one but we couldn't quite find a way through. In hindsight maybe a bit too negative formation wise and then got it wrong sticking to the 5122P even when Gotze and de Jong came on.

Incredibly we now face Atletico again at home tonight (Champions League) for the 3 time in the last week having played them in the EFL Cup too. A win for Atletico would complete an even split of the trilogy but after our opening game defeat at Old Trafford we simply cannot afford to lose. Even a draw wouldn't be ideal so we need to find a way of performing better and creating more chances.....or hope Atletico's keeper gets injured again lol

                        "Enjoy while it lasts"

With manager GSW set to return mid season, I am definitely going to enjoy whatever time I have with this club, and no better way than to kick some butt over the weekend. We hardly dominated the game, neither in possession nor shots but somehow we had the quality to go all the way and get a victory. Our sights are now set on a big game against Paula Deen in the UCL where we hope to go 6/6

Well played Gary! Yes feels like we were unlucky in this one .. a dodgy pen and a goal ruled out that would have put us into the lead, and then a sucker punch in the dying minutes ...

... Had we more points on the board we may have settled for the draw but we wanted to win being at home and with comparable squads on paper ...

Generally good abs earnt, I thought the larger squad would benefit us, but in reality the subs seem to be disrupting the rhythm ..

This was a poor result for us, we were the home team and had T/A and we somehow end up losing the game. Already there's a sense of deja vu about this season, it's a carbon copy of our previous season in EFL 1 One win in seven games leaves us second from the bottom of the table.

I hope that our luck will change soon but I get the feeling, that's unlikely.
