BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
CvP, didnt realise how much C had been killed until tonight, lesson learned.
"Thought about playing 5 at the back before tonights game coming up against a strong side and manager, but the guy we signed last week came with a 3 game injury so that was the end of that idea, saw us setup tactically better than them and thought it might go our way, turns out the FA dont want teams playing counter attacking football this season, il be happy once my team is sorted on friday, we will be weaker again but at least we can start to look at what that team will become in time."
Fuck me this engine gets more random by the week. It definitely has it in for Sam as well as Leeds.
battered them and deserved the win to be fair, but my 7 shooting defender getting a hat trick?! Ok!!
Nice to actually chalk a win on the board but it doesn’t paper over the cracks I anticipate a difficult season with Porto, perhaps an upturn once I get used to these new tactic tweaks. Just feels mental at the moment.
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
A disappointing bow for the new man in charge at Villarreal who had to witness his team get squeezed out of this tie by the narrowest of margins. Greaves who has taken on this extra role is under no illusion of the enormity of the task he faces here in Spain and was gutted to see the team lose but such a narrow margin in what was clearly as close a game as you are likely to witness. " The boys did well" said the new gaffer and if we continue to show that kind of spirit I am sure we will pick up points.
Derby County 1
T_Pukki (46)
Booked: J_Harrison (62)
Wolves 1
A_Kalajdzic (59)
Sent off: Brahim (60)
MotM: T_Pukki (Derby County)
HT: 0-0
Wolves visited the Baseball Ground, but it didn't prove to be a happy hunting ground on this occasion. Wolves set their stall out early with a pretty aggressive approach, but Brahim overstepped the mark and was the first in the book which would prove pivotal later in the game. Nothing much between the two sides in the first half and we went into the break goalless. The home side roared into the first half with an early goal for Pukki which seemed to knock the stuffing out of the visiting side for a while. Just prior to the hour mark the Wolves captain stepped up to be counted as Kalajdzic scored the equaliser. Euphoria from the travelling supporters, but sadly it was very short lived. Brahim picked up his second yellow a minute later and was sent from the field. Despite going down to ten men Wolves still carved out a few chances to take the win, but it ended in a point a piece. The stats showed a fairly even game so a draw was probably the fairest result.
Well played Darren, good game.
Next game for Wolves is a WM Cup group match against Borussia Dortmund.
Fortunately after the seven nil drubbing by PSV it was good certainly to get a win and the performance was much better than I expected and 3 points was readily taken. It wasn't until the second half that the goals were scored so a tight first half and we turned it on with goals from Milik, Vlasic and Zaccagni. Early days obviously but a decent start to the season.
A real back and forth game against the team who knocked us out of the FA Cup so revenge is very sweet.
Our set ups were very similar and 13 minutes in we took the lead and went on to double our lead shortly after the half hour mark.
West Brom pulled a goal back 5 minutes before the break and we went into half time with a 2-1 lead.
We held this lead until the 73rd minute when R_Brewster scored his 2nd of the game to pull the visitors level and we thought we'd blown it.
With 12 minutes to go we took the lead once again but were pegged back with just 5 minutes to go and the trend of our season (Conceding late goals) continues, however this time we scored a minute later to take a 4-3 lead and win the game.
Statistically we were the dominant team, limiting WBA to just 4 shots on target. Slightly worried that they scored 3 from the 4 but a win is a win and we move up to 12th. Good game Frank
3 wins out of 3 as caretaker, woo, at least something is going right!
P v C to start with, but we scored two early goals and they switched to A and gave it a go.
Sadiq was the main man this time around, scoring the goals and Sociedad looked good value for the win.
Sociedad up to 4th now, Leipzig next
I guess that a draw against a side that had won there first two games, a 21 rated keeper and good players throughout is not too bad. But we were at home and need to be winning home games if we are going to have a reasonable season. In which case it is more points dropped and we need to start scoring more and stopping the opposition.
Nothing between the two teams after the points was shared at VELTINS Arena. They matched each other on the stats and relative few chances was created.
The visitors striked the first blood when Josip Brekalo scored from a powerful header in the 69th minute. We pushed forward to get an equliser and save a point. Our reward came and it was an own goal from Alexander Bah who finalized the score.
Two wins on the bounce and we're up to third... which is a fair bit higher than I expect we will finish the season, but it's good to get some more points on the board.
As with the prior match we conceded early, to give us something to do. A tight game that saw us only get the two shots on target, but young Tommy Conway (starting due to the injury to Nahki Wells) popped up in the 70th minute with what proved to be the winner.
