The season doesn’t hold out much hope, hardly worth my effort sheeting really not that I put much effort into it.
milk maybe have a look over the weekend and see if I can think of a better system for this rabble see if they can go a few games without getting embarrassed.
Shite effort
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
The gold and black were back at home and Wolves took full advantage of the home support at Molineux. Wolves were good value for their win and certainly looked the better side throughout enjoying tactical advantage for the full 90 minutes. Only downsides were P_Struijk picking up a yellow card and T_Mitchell hobbling off after only 22 minutes. The prognosis is that Mitchell will miss the next game but should be back fit again ready for selection after that.
Wolves manager Ray Wallace said after the game "Good to see the lads bounce back after the disappointing loss in the FA Cup to Aston Villa. They put on a great show for the home supporters for our first game on our own patch this season. Pascal had a great game at the back and fully deserved the MotM accolade. Tyrick had a nasty looking fall, but fortunately he'll only miss the one game."
Good game Tim.
Next game for Wolves is a trip to Pride Park for a Conference match against Derby County.
"I wasnt too pleased that we were playing Leipzig twice at home in a week, its like taking a second penalty in the same game, youve got to decide whether to setup differently, pick a different team etc, we made a few tweaks but largely decided to setup the same way and hope Leipzig put all the work in to change their approach, they did and it worked in our favour, dont get me wrong we dominated the game from start to finish but 7 goals probably did flatter us a little, but after a first league game with 0 goals its nice to put 7 in the scored column after this one and move ourselves up the table, Richarlison bowing out with a hat trick is pleasing for the lad, Madueke continues to show why he is probably the best player in this league on his day, nice for Gakpo to continue his scoring and Malen to notch his first of the season. Porto away and Watford at home the next two games which will be very tough even if Porto havent started as well as they would've liked."
Our first home game of the season ended in a scoreless draw. We created enough to win the game but both visitors and ourselves had a perfect defensive performance. A decent result and it leaves us unbeaten in the league after two games.
Offensively we need to improve and we might benefit if we’re able to be more creative in our attacking play. There is a chance we’ll be looking to strengthen ourselves in the offensive area of the midfield. If the right player comes along we’ll be there for the taking.
Two wins in a row for the 'real' Sociedad, who are the fake ones anyway?!
We were lucky to face Mr random, who threw up an N to our P, and the stats showed we were good value for the win.
Old man Silva had another great game, scoring two, who says 36 is past it?
If only some of this luck/skill would rub off on my other team.
Hopefully David will return, and his absence was just a blip
How do you count how many words you have written anyway? I guess I should just write a few more just in case
What can I say! Except its going to be a long season! We weren't totally outplayed and we had our chances but when they are a couple of top class players in the opposition ranks you know that you have to be very watchful otherwise you get punished and we did.
A real back and forth game for us with Forest taking an early lead, only for us to win a penalty instantly, however we missed it and the hosts doubled their lead just 2 minutes later.
We gave up TA and got ourselves back into the tie on 13 minutes but the 2 goal advantage was restored shortly after.
Two goals in a 15 minute spell brought us back to level in the game and from there we knew that anything could happen and late on in the second half we felt a 4 minute spell had won us the game with us taking the lead for the first time in the game followed by Forest being reduced to ten men, however another late goal meant we shared the spoils.
Statistically Forest were the better team just about, but we got more of our shots on target and I feel thats why we've managed to get a draw against a good team and manager.
Well if I was going to get my selection and tactics wrong don't mess about and do it in style which I think i accomplished quite well. PSV took full advantage of my balls up and deservedly so.
Well, this was a topsy, turvy game right from the off! The classic "emotional rollercoaster".
3-1 up after 19 minutes... happy days. 3-3 at half time... disappointing, but there was still plenty of time to re-group and go forward. Having performed so well in our opening two games, it is quite clear this team always a has a goal in them, and I did feel that we could go again.
In the space of 5 x second half minutes, we were 4-3 down and down to 10 men with only a quarter of the game left. Not ideal and a big blow to our chances, as Mangala has been a key player for us so far. Despite being a man down, we kept creating and were rewarded just before full time with Johnson's equaliser.
After all of that, I'll take a 4-4! A solid point to back up the opening day victory, and plenty of attacking threat on display.
