    Porto 1 -1 Feyenord

The assistant had to take the reigns for this one as I was busy with my main club.
He’ll be sacked tomorrow after this woeful effort. We should have beaten these and to go a goal down is poor.
Im hoping to make the next game as the kick off times are different but if they change I’ll be sorting my Leeds team out as they’re my club and I’d choose them over Porto any day.

      Sunderland 0-0 PSV

"I thought looking at the game today we would be talking about a bore draw after it, teams will be happy to take points from us this season and i expect to see plenty of defensive set ups, neither side did enough we opened up a bit and chased a goal but we couldnt find one through Sunderland sitting firmly behind the ball from the get go, this is different for me this season, im not normally in charge of a team that managers will fear and ive got to learn how to make sure we get the 3 points in these tough games regardless, this is one of those games where you go away from home to a tough place, take a point, put it on the board and move on."

        RB Leipzig 2 - 1 Bristol City
A good start for Leipzig against a strong Bristol side, took the lead halfway through the first half with Martial netting his first of the season after some good build up play. The second half was mostly City looking for the equaliser which eventually came after there consistent pressure with 10 minutes to go but Leipzig stole the win undeservedly with a goal from midfielder McKennie with minutes to go. Happy with the 3 points.

          Boro 1 - 2 Königsblauen

This could have easily ended in a loss but two late goals earned us the win. The home side was the better team in the opening stages and scored the opening goal. The game was handed to us when Ruben Aguilar was sent off after half an hour played.

We produced loads of chances but it looked like one of those days. But inside the last five minutes of the game we scored twice to turn the game around. Sebastian Polter leveled before Florent Mollet won us the game on the last kick of the evening.

Very nice to start the season with a win and we’re able to travel back home knowing we already has picked up the first win of the season.

Well played Andy. Good luck in the upcoming games.

            Middlesbrough 1 - 2 Schalke

This one stings, a tough opener for us and we took an early lead after setting up similarly to our visitors when Muniz put us ahead on 4 minutes.

We then gave up TA and things only got worse from there. R_Aguilar picked up a second yellow card on 34 minutes and we were down to ten men.

Schalke gave up TA to match us at P at the break and it looked like we'd hold on, until they scored on 86 minutes. We'd have taken a draw at this point but the German team claimed all 3 points in injury time to break our hearts.

Statistically Schalke were the better team, add to this we had 10 men, I can't really complain/expect more from the lads.

            Good game Eduardo

              Real Sociedad 3
              Brais_Mendez (36), U_Sadiq (47), Zubimendi (89)

              Wolves 4
              K_Dolberg (16,41), Emerson_Royal (17), Melendo (26)
              Booked: Brahim (38)

              MotM: K_Dolberg (Wolves)
              HT: 1-4

Our first game of the season saw us travel to Spain for a match up against a very well balanced Real Sociedad side managed by Freddie Kaye. Unfortunately for the home side there was no sign of their new manager when the whistle blew to start the game.

And what a game it turned out to be where we dominated for large parts to build up a three goal lead twice, to only see the home side dig in strongly to come back within an ace of getting a draw. Kasper Dolberg picked up all the accolades playing in a slightly withdrawn position just off the main striker Kalajdzic. It seemed to suit him as he picked up both a brace of goals and the MotM award. Oscar Melendo carried on his fine form from last season to bag a goal and Emerson Royal had an excellent game in defense and also got himself a goal.

Played Sociedad, and hopefully we will see Freddie back in the dugout for their next game.

Manager Ray Wallace said after the game "We always knew this was going to be a tough opening game for us. And that's how it turned out. We need to work on our concentration to make sure opponents don't come back at us in the future the way Sociedad did here. Kasper had a great game, but unfortunately Manuel had a bit of a 'mare in goal. He knows he can do far better than that and I know he will do too. After all he still made eight excellent saves throughout the game. On a side note I hope we see Freddie back leading Sociedad in the very near future."

Wolves next game up is a trip to Prem side Aston Villa in the FA Cup. This will be a very tough game for Wolves especially as Villa had a great start to the season.

                Derby 2 - 2 West Brom

New season. same old issues. Get a start, cannot build on it or hold on to it. At least we dug out a draw thanks to a late goal from the new lad upfront who came on to save us.

On to the next one. Good game Frank.

                    Watford 2 Cardiff 0
"We faced a non-sheeter but unfortunately spun the chamber and ended up with the one with the bullet in it, and ended up losing TA to an absent manager. We got offered a lifeline with a penalty but managed to sky it. We bossed the stats yet ended up on the end of a 2 goal defeat. Cant really take any positives out of the game, but we move on"

                      Watford 2-0 Cardiff

Yeah apoligies to the cardiff manager. I failed to turn up for this one, must have been using last years diary for dates.

We didn't deserve to win for the reason alone, then you throw in the stats and we deserved to be on the other end of this result.

gonna hurt walking around all week with this horse shoe up our ass.

I'd like to say I am sorry Sam but took one look at your squad compared to mine and set up the best I thought to get something from the game and with an odd chance I could nick it by a goal. In the end I got what I expected so I can't complain.
I will say though if you were wanting to win why did you go C at me? It ended with us both on the same tactic and I suspect my home advantage nullified your squad advantage.

I think you have quoted the wrong game Dave, it was more the 5 at the back that made it difficult plus too many shots off target from my fws, I went C because i thought you would go C but i absolutely hate E which would of given me the advantage and if id of gone A or P youd of countered that and probably got the goal you were after, i did play A for a portion of the second half but to no avail, dont take any of my PMR personally, we have been asked to be in character when providing a reaction and therefore that was mine.

Good luck for the season Dave.

                            Villarreal 0-3 Nottingham Forest

Well. This is a great way to mark my return to the game! Always looked a tricky fixture on paper, however we set up as we wanted and it paid off. More shots, more key moments, more possession - the perfect away performance.

Great to see Awoniyi in the goals, and what a baller of a performance from Mangala on debut! 1 goal and 2 assists!

Matchday 1 = 1st in the table. If we can backup this performance over the coming games, no reason why we can't compete this season.

Good game Neil, good luck for the season.

                              RB Leipzig 2 - 1 Bristol City

First game back after a year's break and was hoping to get off to a flyer... but despite edging the stats managed to concede in the 89th minute and slip to defeat.

Going to be working on my preparation for games more this season, which hoping will pay dividends in a by mid-Jan.

Good to be back though; the club isn't expected to be active in the transfer market for the first few weeks of the season while I get up to speed on the levels.
