Lens 1 - 0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Unf-ing believable. After struggling around 14th in the table all season, we made a late winning streak and are now getting promoted...wow.

Good game Steve and congrats on a great season. Shakhtar and Lens have similar roster quality, so I am sure you have had the same feelings of amazement as myself for getting this far.

As for the match, long ball strategy caught me by surprise. On our end, I decided to stick with 4-1-3-2 and not deploy the 4-2-3-1 this time. Usual game plan, hope to get a lead and hang on for dear life. Lens conceded the least amount of goals in EFL 2 so only fitting to win 1-0.

We will enjoy this one for now, as it might be the last time we win for a while. EFL 1 is going to be very difficult to navigate. I didn't expect promotion in year 1.

RC Lens 1-0 SHAKHTAR DONETSK

A game of 1 moment to decide it. We could bemoan we deserved more but in cup football its win or bust. No doubt Gyokeres being unavailable, really affected us for sure. That might've given us a little more of a chance today, but they have a better squad than us, especially in the key areas and always had to be slight favorites.

Regardless, shitty Shakhtar went to the wire and it's still been a great season, but congrats to Chris and Lens, best of luck in EFL 1.
