Liverpool 2-0 MANCHESTER UNITED
A result definitive of our season, not good enough.
We've played E enough this season and know its temperamental nature against the C set up. But it worked a treat for Liverpool who went 2 up easily. Once we tried to open up we did get back into the tie but lacklustre finishing gave us no chance.
We have no complaints on the day. Slow start, not good enough, deserved winners.
Graeme came back this year and does what he always does, wins things. Well done to the greatest there is. -

Well as poor as we were tactically from the start in our final league game I have to say we got it spot on from the get go today and it got us the vital early goal from old man Jordi Alba. A 2nd quickly followed from Rashford which gave us a nice cushion and I felt fairly comfortable watching from there on in. In fairness to Steve he tried changing things up a few times but we held firm and it's a great feeling to win silverware in our first season at the club especially after that horror show during the week.
The added bonus of coming through the game unscathed and with David Alaba returning from suspension we'll be at full strength for the DPT final against Atletico.
As I say a great feeling to win this one as we try to re-establish Liverpool as a serious contender in the game.
Unlucky Steve, not only one of the best managers out there but one that that plays the game in the right way. Nothing but respect for you and will look forward to locking horns again next season.Comment
