What a disgusting result this is. D vs A and we battered them but they scored with their only shot on target while we had 13 shots on target but couldn't score.
This result sums up out final third of the season which has led to another Real Madrid title, congratulations to Ian a worthy winner. Now we have to try to hang onto 2nd as PSG have gone under the radar and are right behind us with an easy win pencilled in for R38 while we host an in form Fiorentina.
I'd say good game Mike but I'm livid at my strikers still
We gave todays opposition some respect with the way we set up today and that is what probably helped us on the way to three points but more importantly the League Tittle. Got an early goal, Inter levelled it but we retook the lead all in the first 45. After reaching 7 Cup Finals during my time in FFO and losing every one of them it sure feels strange to win some silverware even though we was one of the favourites gong into this season. I can't pretend that Juves patchy form during the run in hasn't helped us because it has but thats their loss. Ed will claim comfort in the fact that he is in two Cup Finals but I seem to recall him saying that winning a Cup is all down to luck and that the real skill is in winning the League, I agree with him.
Hard fought win away against a side we faced last season in EF2 too.
We started with a passing approach against the expected L, but once we had scored we were up against the counter.
Sevilla will feel hard done by, but our lads were more clinical on the day. Guedes scored his 20th of the season, and fellow front line players Guirassy and Chuk also netted. It took an 82nd minute winner to seal the points.
Our second half of the season form has been good, if only we had started the season like it and we'd be playing Champions League football next season, but I can't be disappointed with the way the side have settled into EF1.
Up to 10th, and we could even sneak 9th if we beat Juve and Sevilla lose.
Congrats to Ian for the title, and all the top 8 for CL finishes.
With the DPT final fast approaching the club were back to full team selection but opted to wrap Sessegnon in cotton wool to avoid a booking that would see him miss the final. The main target of the game was to remain injury and suspension free. The bonus was a Saint Maximin goal that won a closely fought game and guaranteed Atletico 7th place minimum with outside shot of 6th.
Marsh commented "We have lost so many points that it was nice to get a couple of back with a victory that was fortunate. The decision now will be whether we try and win the last game to have a go at 6th place or preserve the side for the DPT final".
