Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Leverkusen with a solid win over Dortmund to keep the greatest escape in history alive. 3 games to go, one crucial against Lisbon who are battling just below us, and then two against two of the best sides in the game. Cannot underestimate how important Friday will be.
Travelling to Roma may not be as daunting as it once was but they are still a formidable team that are capable of big results. We played this game not to our strengths but in a way that would optimise our chances of a result. That in itself was a risk but it paid off even though it was by a very narrow margin, three points is three points especially at this stage.
Another frustrating result as we had no room for error but a tough trip away to Inter meant that’s exactly what we did.
Inter came out ready to attack us from the off and we hit them on the counter and quickly took the lead after just 4 minutes. We switched to P which was a mistake looking back as Inter never changed tactics.
We seemed to be holding onto our lead as half time came and went but shortly before the hour mark the hosts got their goal and we were back level and back to hitting on the counter attack.
On 75 minutes the hosts were reduced to 10 men and we felt like we could possibly take all 3 points but it wasn’t to be as the spoils were shared between the two Italian teams.
Statistically we were yet again the better team but we couldn’t convert our chances. Good game John.
I didn't see this one coming Nice to score a few to improve our goal difference, away from home too.
The tactical advantage probably swung it in our favour, and clinical finishing from the lads, as the stats weren't that far apart really.
Spinazzola has been a revelation since his signing, and got another couple of goals and man of the match here. Chuk, Guirassy and sub Josulu also got amongst the goals. ul dude.
With only 3 games to go still have a chance of moving up a position or two, but nice to confirm we are definitely safe, and in the DPT next season.
Travelling weakened to PSG is never a good idea but the side was set up to dig in and get something from the game. The plan was working relatively well until Sessegnon's second yellow card meant 10-man football and PSG more or less immediately scored. Atletico had to come out and this inevitably allowed a second goal.
Marsh commented "One dosnt expect to beat PSG often and I think you need a bit of luck. Unfortunately whenever we play them they tend to get all the luck on top of their beast squad. Its frustrating as we had a chance of getting a point until the soft dismissal".
Atletico are guarantee a 9th placed finish now. Two more points would guarantee champions league football returns to the club. Six more points would ensure 7th place. Unfortunately the club still have two players missing with in-form Bayern up next.
