Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
We dominated the early stages even when we lost Diaz to another injury (more to contend with), another big game where we won't have the full squad to pick from. But once we went 2 up Rovers went route one and it worked for them, in a sense they managed 2 goals from 3 on target, to be fair out of 9 in total. Rovers came for a draw with their tactics and got it. It just feels like if it can go against you, it does for us this season.
We've thrown away too many leads and our goalkeeper has one of the worst save to goal ratio. Add to that the copious injuries and suspensions. It's been a season to forget in many ways and it's now a case of simply looking to next season, and eggs in one basket of the FA cup.
We continue our trend of defeating or drawing with the top 6 or 7 sides, but fail to beat the sides below us (on most attempts!)
After no luck away to Leicester, lady luck did shine on this week, however a red card to new signing Savic rules him out for two games and this will cause us problems for our games against Burnley and Watford (sides below us) who we are very anxious about playing. GG Tim. All the best for your top 8 quest.
Manchester United will definitely feel worse off having a two goal lead however with our depleted squad we played the best that we could switching it up twice during the game. I thought we gave a good account of ourselves and we’re very deserving of our point. Our opponents held a lot of possession well but ultimately with little possession we were just as dangerous as they were although . We were not as clinical as what We usually are definitely a big point for us in our quest for the top eight..
A first goal for the club for De Jong set us about on our way to claim the full three points with a comfortable home win to enable us to place some pressure on the teams above us. Berardi got a yellow card and will miss the next game which will be a big miss. Burnley are better than their position but as a Blackburn fan I hope they go down, sorry Radan.
This was a big game for the Owls with a home game against a premier league strugglers. Sadly with E_Dier and N_Zaniolo both absent it would make the chances of victory much slimmer.
An Engels own goal gifted Palace the lead and they were not able to equalise until the 77th minute through Targett. Overall Wednesday could have nicked the game with a 14-10 shot count.
One point keeps the league point ticking over and the gap to survival reduces to 5 points but time is running out with only 18 points to play with.
Wednesday have been open to making some last minute deals but nothing to talk about as of yet.
Wendell needs only 7 more minutes of playing time for all players to meet their requirements to be retained next season.
Liverpool 3 Leicester City 2
The score line is a lot closer than it should have been given our dominance but we're at the stage of the season where the 3 points is really all that matters. We gambled a bit by splitting time for a 16 and 15 rater so maybe that had something to do with it - although ironically the 15 rater netted our 3rd which ultimately proved to be the decisive goal.
Mudryk, certainly recently, has been our main man and he scored again during another man of the match performance. We've had a couple of enquiries about him but would prefer to keep him if possible although ultimately everyone has their price.
Next up a very difficult looking trip to White Hart Lane or whatever it's called these days. Tim has had an excellent first campaign there and defeated us at Anfield earlier in the season. Leeds and Arsenal amongst others are breathing down our necks so we have to come away with something. Every game at this stage is absolutely vital so hopefully we are at our best - we'll need to be.
A tough away trip despite West Ham’s current league position. We probably telegraphed our starting tactics as the hosts countered us from the start.
This didn’t matter too much as we took the lead almost instantly and West Ham were chasing the game, but chase they did and on 16 minutes they caught us as the made it 1-1.
They’d turned it around by the 39th minute and it was us who were chasing the game, switching to P before the break and deep into added on time we made it 2-2 heading into the break.
No more goals in the second half meant the game ended in a draw and with the stats showing a fairly even game a point each was probably the fair result.
We have had some really tough fixtures of late and managed to carve out some very results and this is right up there with them and a result that we did actually deserve. Not many sides restrict Man City to just one shot on target but a solid display at the back did just that. Aaron Hickey has been one of the best signings I've brought in for many a season, only arriving from Barca earlier in the season but has been superb since he signed and he popped up with the only goal of the game to get us a massive three points and keep the run we are on going.
The end of the season is well in sight now and the table still so close. All we can do is keep putting the pressure on the sides around and us hope for a slip up or two.
