Well, I couldn't say no to the Bournemouth delegation who turned up at my door yesterday and begged me to take over and relegate err, try to improve the club's lot. Lots of good work has been done (especially bringing in many players) by the current caretaker, Mr Marsh - what, no first name? - but a full timer was hoped for by the Directors.
My pay will be the usual for a rookie manager, a pie and Bovril at the game end, and 2 pies if I does well. Just checked on last night's match and there is room for improvement. Whether I manage to improve them is another matter....... I look forward to the challenge. Now how far away are we from relegation... Oh dear!!

        Good luck
Id say do not worry too much about league position this season. Higher placed season does win more prize money but the priority is making sure EVERY player gets their needed match minutes because it is insanely expensive to replace players at the end of the season to get back to the 23 required. The cash - it could be used in the forthcoming mid-season auction but ideally take a look at the academy rules - this looks to be the way to go to build a club from the bottom up and at present Bournemouth only have the minimum 4 players. Ive driven down the average age of the team whilst increasing the cash pot and with investment in coaches/academy players there could be a better future for Bournemouth........but it will take some time and patience getting there!

Yes, this minutes to be played is something I wasn't used to - will start to keep an eye open now. And I appreciate your caretaking very much, Marshy, as for the academy I guess I can't add players to it during the season?
